rollotomasi

R.T. thank you not only for your genius role as the Macguffin in "L.A. Comfidential," but for the perfect post to sum up everything I've attempted to fight against in this, the first true left wing fever swamp, I've encountered. I guess I needed to see that we had our own Freeperville. I'd seen hints of it on DailyKos, but never to this level of hysteria and utter pathology.

Utterly revealing. and utterly depressing.

You start with the usual nonsense questioning who I "really" am, the wonderful undercut of internet anonymity. Am I NeoCon? Or maybe an ADL plant?

Sure it has nothing to do with anything I said (just as Glenn's background has nothing to do with his arguments), but damn if it doesn't help to discredit that annoying "Other" who's raining on your dittohead parade around here.

I find it very interesting that someone comes in here and frames Glenn’s promised updates regarding ADL... (snip)... as an “obsession” ....(snip)

Glenn called them up, he had his answer, but that isn't exciting. He continued to rail that they didn't do enough to satisfy him (as in immediately issue a press release for every quote Glenn gave them). It was absurd. With all the great work Glenn does, why does the ADL's response to anti-Semitism on the right matter unless Glenn is building the same bullshit narrative that you are -- that anti-Semitism doesn't really take place, it's just a tool of the Jews really running the republican party. That's the entire subtext of Glenn's argument on this issue. Even though the ADL agreed with him on the phone. But that doesn't fit the narrative. It's gotta be the shoes!!

He was also pretty freely throwing around racist rhetoric re: African-Americans and “Mexican illegals” (his words)

Context, thy name is Buzz Meeks. Irony is dead indeed.

Glenn’s regulars should give themselves a pat on the back.

Of course they should, that's what hack "regular" posters like yourself show up and do. Out the "Other" and reassure the masses that it's all o-tay, the meanie is just a plant or a liar, and soon he'll go away. Then you'll all have that freedom to concoct grand conspiracy myths about the overt power of Jewish Money behind the republican party. It's just a fantastic story! Almost like L.A. Confidential! I knew there was some "group" behind the republican party, and it's so boring if it's masses of regular Christian Americans who voted for a moron. It's gotta be something else... and YOU found it, Rollo!! Good work!!

Anti-Semitism exists, but it is used all too often as a diversionary tactic in discussions re: Israel policy, neo-conservatism, Jewish political influence, and so on,

Beautiful. At least you're willing to say it.

The crux of how disinterested you really are in anything you're arguing. Anti-Semitism is now simply a "diversionary tactic." It couldn't possibly still exist. Why? Because Rollotomasi on Glenn Greenwald's blog knows. He just knows. Just like the republicans tell black people to STFU and stop whining.

Obviously not all Jewish are neo-conservatives and visa versa, but certain Jewish lobbies and influences have been an integral part of the movement.

Some of my best friends, yadda yadda.

The more you toss around some vaguely defined "Jewish" connection to the Neo-Cons, the more you allow those clowns to correctly label you either unintentionally or intentionally perpetuating one of the great anti-Jewish narratives of all time.

Not only is it moronic to even bring Jewishness up when discussing the Neo-Cons, it plays directly into their hands.

Jewish intellectuals are in all movements, genius.

You will see them wherever you want to see them. Anti-Semites on the right see George Soros and the Jews in Hollywood as their proof that Jews are working against American interests on the left.

Oh sure, 95% of Senators and Congressmen that are Jewish are democrats. But that doesn't feed your wonderful behind-the-scenes paranoia story, does it? Oh sure, democrats in media are some of the most important and powerful voices on the left, from John Stewart to Noam Chomsky to Paul Krugman to Frank Rich to Sy Hersh.

But, hey, there's AIPAC. And the ADL didn't issue a press release fast enough for Glenn. And OMGLOL!! Paul Wolfowitz is Jewish!! That has to mean something insidious. Quoting Michael Lind was the icing on the crap cake.

Your framing is so dangerous, Rollo, but there's no way I could ever reach you to make you see it. Your weak mind is recreating one of the great myths of the "Other" at work behind a country that has sold so well and so tragically in the past.

But no worries. Talk about me. Call me a racist, then you really won't have to worry about the whole "anti-Semitism" thing. Question my motives, that always gets a rise out of the coliseum in the simulacrum.

Then offer your cursory words that of course "anti-Semitism" still exists, it just doesn't really exist. Some of your best friends are Jewish and you also read and cried over Anne Frank.

So now you can let those right wing Hebes get their due for manipulating America into a war on behalf of Israel. I'll bet their stroking their long white beards and going "Muhahahahahaha..." right now.

This pathetic need to paint Neo-Conservatism as "Jewish," presumably behind their Christian puppets, to the hysteria over AIPAC (one of many pro-war lobbying groups, but obviously more important because, well, they Jews!) is the single greatest rot inside our cause right now. And I will call it out just as I will call out O'Reilly's "War on Chistmas" and the numerous George Soros caricatures from your counterparts in the republican party.

AIPAC and the Neo-Cons are reprehensible. But you're not Superman pulling the mask off some grand hidden Cabal, my friend. Take off the cape. You're not a hero. You're just a deluded moron perpetuating an age-old myth without self awareness nor curiosity.
