Oh please.

The issue remains whether or not she is qualified for the Vice Presidency or Presidency. Do those of you who support her really think that someone who cannot put together a coherent sentence in her native language is an appropriate representative of the United States on the world stage? She is like Vlad Dracula - only asleep and still dangerous.

an improvement

Moderate Republicans would be an improvement.

Original article: Ask the pilot

A modest proposal

Outfit an overhead bin with bedding, soundproofing, video and audio monitoring and a way to secure the child in place. Connect the monitor to a screen in front of the parent's seat and an audio channel. Parents could then monitor their children without the rest of the cabin sharing in the delightful experience.

If I have to pay to check a bag, people traveling with children should have to buy them a seat.

Shocked! Shocked I tell you!!

I in no way wish to defend the boy president, but, he was always the choice of the Neocons. Anyone who was surprised when when Rummy, Cheney and the rest of the foreign policy troglodytes came with the package wasn't paying attention. Likewise, why is everyone surprised by the magnitude of the damage done by a president and his colleagues who came to office only by Supreme Court violation of clear Constitutional procedure? Why, only now, are the news media taking these people to task for their Constitutional violations, execrable foreign and domestic policies and outright lies?

The zipper problem.

Nelson Rockefeller did not have to hire hookers. There is nothing wrong with the world's oldest profession, which should be legalized, but it seems unseemly for the governer of the Empire State to have to rely on freelancers.

Maybe if he weren't such a dork ...

Make that "governor".

We all know what works

Small class size, highly qualified teachers who are appropriately rewarded for their efforts, a nourishing, supportive environment both inside and outside school, adequate pre-natal nutrition, turning off the tv, etc. etc. etc.

All of what works costs money and might require changing the way we live.

Everyone wants to go to heaven, no one wants to die.

tykes on the train!

I have an eighteen year old friend in China. When she was six her parents put her on the eight hour, overnight train from Chengdu to Xichang to visit a relative. She traveled both ways, alone, without incident.

Children played with fireworks without "CLOSE ADULT SUPERVISION" in my Chengdu neighborhood. I am unaware of any loss of life, limb or faculty.

Any child was was injured probably benefited from what the experts call the "single trial learning experience".

Parents in the US have lost all touch with common sense.

are you living in some other universe?

How can you possible say

If, however, anyone is actively engaged in a conspiracy to violate the laws of this country and to do violence against its citizens, the conservative response is to arrest the conspirators, charge them, give them a fair trial in front of a jury of their peers and, if they're convicted, to jail them for a very long time.

After the last eight years of mayhem committed on our Constitution and civil rights?

Now I know who this anonymous conservative is: Dick Cheney.
