COLBERT! IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, RELEASE THAT TAPE!!

I love the coverage of Taitz and the Birthers. Wingy Conservatives constantly screech about how nobody pays attention to them, but as soon as we start paying attention, they screech that it's too much, or not fair in some way.

It's disheartening to hear fellow liberals asking for less coverage. There is no "less coverage". We have been forced to cover this nonsense because the proponents of it won't shut the hell up.

I don't know about you folks, but every blog and forum I visit has been infested in the last few weeks by these folks and they drop thier comment bombs of bullshit and derail everything. (just as conservatives did today in the health plan town halls!) Ignoring them isn't working as well as it does with the average happy troll, because these lunatics are on a mission from God, and they WON'T BE IGNORED if it kills them. (yes, you should see an image in your mind of a boiling bunny at this point).

Wanting more coverage, I'm not really satisfied by this interview. As ridiculous as Taitz sounds to me, I know the mindset she panders to, and they will only be energized by what they've seen. Orly played it right, whether she is sane enough to know it or not. She started off asking for unreasonable things - It was unreasonable to ask about the length of the interview when she is already on air; she could have determined the length beforehand, and refused to be on if the answer was unacceptable to her. So immediately she positions herself as the victim by asking unreasonable things: they won't even answer her harmless question! Result? Her fellow sociopaths are incensed.

Then, when the host asks her specifically why a parent would go to the trouble of falsifying a birth announcement – instead of getting right to the point and saying “– we aren't saying that they were doing this in anticipation of the baby being president, but we believe that a relative from Kenya submitted the Birth Certificate to the Hawaiian Department of Health and then the Department of Health submitted it to the newspaper”– she feels the need to reiterate whats we've already heard – about the supposed differences between they types of certificates... she rambles on about “it could have been a grandmother or mother” until the interviewer breaks in and tries to get her to focus on the actual question. Result? Orly is seemingly silenced and her fellow sociopaths are further incensed.

A smaller scale – real life example of this shit in action:

An admin at one forum I visit had 3 seperate users in the past weeks post messages, then delete those messages themselves and claim that the Admin did it in an effort to "silence" them. A few regular forum users complained - they believed what the invaders said – not about the Birth certificate, but that the messages had been deleted unfairly by Admin. So the Admin had to post shots of the admin records, and then changed the system so the boards would show who actually deleted posts instead of the posts just disappearing. Whether it's Orly on MSNBC or 3 forum posters, the result is the same: pretending that you are being unfairly silenced is a great way to get some sympathy...

The things that need to be investigated by the “leftist media” are things like: What other cases has Orly tried as an attorney? What were the results? Is she a decent dentist (seriously, cuz I think I need a root canal) Where is degree her from (we hear it's an unaccredited distance learning outfit), What do her friends an neighbors know about her? Her employees? Can we see her birth certificate? Is she a citizen? - there are many things that we, and more importantly, the people who are sending her money deserve to know.

And one last very important thing: We need to investigate the wingy-conservative hatred of George Soros. The anti-Soros movement is really what underlies all of this. From the conservatives who distrupted the health-plan townhalls, to the conservatives who hound ACORN, to the conservatives who support this Birther movement, they all have one thing in common and that is the hatred of George Soros. Why they hate him, other than his being a filthy rich lefty who supports lefty causes, and who double-crossed the Nazis when he was a kid is beyond me. Wanna see a great comparison between Good and Evil? Read the George Soros wiki entry, and then read the Rupert Murdoch wiki entry. I know who my hero is.

And OMG, I heard that Colbert's interview with Taitz went on for more than an hour and he said it was “pure insanity”
