Too Clueless

We ... can search for policy positions that better connect us to the concerns of voters.

The problem is right there. You shouldn't have to search for "policy positions that better connect" you to voter concerns. If you have to go searching for the things that concern voters it means you are tragically out of touch with us regular folks, and will likely never be in touch with us again.

The "policy positions" are staring you in the face - but you are opposed to all the "policy positions" that voters actually care about - when it comes to health care, reproductive rights, marriage rights etc. - you know what the majority of us want but you actively try to deny us these things. That's why you lost, it's not because you are too white it's because you are a bunch of bible-beating hypocrites. We voters hate bible-beating hypocrites no matter what color skin they have.

Try getting the Dominionists out of the GOP - that might actually make a difference.

A Small Bone To Pick

This spring, during the swine flu outbreak, I was searching the Web for news when a blog post on the Huffington Post caught my eye. Titled "Swine Flu: Protect Yourself and Your Loved Ones," its author, Kim Evans, offered a unique prescription for swine flu, one she believed could "save your life": deep-cleansing enemas.

"Most estimates are that the average person has ten or more pounds of stored waste just in their colon," Evans wrote. "In any case, many people have found that disease disappears when this waste is gone, and that when the body is clean it's much more difficult for new problems, like viruses, to take hold in the first place. This is not exactly first-line advice on influenza prevention....

There's no proof that a cleansing program will prevent influenza. In fact, Evans' notion contradicts basic germ theory. Influenza infection is transmitted through respiratory channels and not, like gastrointestinal infections, through contact with fecal matter.

What the hell?

I certainly don't think enemas will ward off swine flu, but c'mon, do you actually think the author of the piece was saying that you'll catch it from fecal matter? No, the author was saying that if you have a cleaned out system your body will be healthier, and you'll be able to resist the infection. Not that I believe it, not that I don't believe it either for that matter, but it sure seems dishonest to imply that the author said we'll catch it from our poo. Christ, if that WAS what she was saying then enemas would be the last thing you'd want to do, then you'd have a bunch of wet shit flying around when previously it was tucked safely up your ass.

Unfortunately, this sort of information twisting seems all too common from those in the medical establishment, and it only makes it harder to take the rest of what you say seriously. After all, if you twist this simple bit of information, what else are you twisting?

Probably A Trick!

I see, discredit HuffPo, specifically where medical issues are concerned, and then we will all take HuffPo less seriously when it comes to Health Care Reform...

Is that it? Did I guess right?
