Original article: Where she was saved

The point is...

Almost everyone has seen what goes on in a Catholic, Methodist or any other mainline church.

If you were brought up in the South, chances are you visited to a Baptist church or two. But there was a long, long time until probably the 1980s that the Pentecostals Assembly of God were thought of, even in the South, as 'the weird ones.'

There is a reason. When I was a child, an aunt took me to one of these churches a few times. I remember people speaking in tongues, and making movements on the floor. Looking back on it, some of those were definitely sexual in nature. I suppose those people were just gettin' close to Jesus.

As a child, it was scary. As an adult, I think back and see this religion as just crazy. I am not offended by all religions, even though I disagree with these "We are the only ones who goes to heaven" types. It is a cult psychology to keep the worshipers in.

If you continue to go out of tradition to a church or a true belief that Chrisitianity to build a better life for those around you, then go for it. But don't govern the rest of us by religion. And the Alaska governor has given every indication she plans on doing exactly that.

Worse than Watergate, but with faux Jesus

The faux Christian Americans truly don't care. Their new Messiah in feminine form is here. Don't look behind the curtain. Don't give a damn about her ethics. She hunts! She kills wolves! She (cough!) hates the good ole boys! She is against community organizers, AKA black people!

If America elects this person and her old geezer running mate who is suddenly PRO regulation of the free markets, then we get the government we deserve.

God, if you exist, then the rest of us may even start praying, after we hurl. Really.

Are you one of them?

What do you mean: "The political world is, for a reason I don't fully understand, captivated by some comments Carly Fiorina made today."

Duh! The woman walked away with $40 million after she destroyed HP and 30 thousand people lost their jobs. Now she is McCain's financial adviser.

The media damn well should be tracking this. Over and over and over. It shows that the Republican party is frickin' clueless. Fiorina and McCain don't see why what she did is WRONG in every way possible.

OUT OF TOUCH. The average shareholders vote is meaningless. It is like voting for the Communist Party. Vote what you want, only the majority shareholders (big companies) make the decisions.

Alex are you clueless? This is the real world of the rich Republican leaders, not the world of the thinking, ordinary people. Of course, the religious Republicans don't give a damn about any of it because nothing phases them, Jesus is coming.

Excuse me Alex

After re-reading your article, I see where you are going. But it wasn't very clear on the first read through. My bad...

@tiberius

What is this 'empty suit' stuff you are babbling about? That is exactly the stuff that is meaningless. You don't hear us going after the 'brain dead with the bobble headed wife' or 'emply snowsuit' and expect it to suffice do you?

GIve me the guy who knows the issues inside and out over the old man and his mean spirited moose hunting side kick any day of the week.

Why in the world would anyone vote for McPain? McCain has a pretty good chance of not making it four years. His father died at 70, and he himself has sick cancer, who knows what else. His running mate isn't allowed to talk to media without a week of prep, and then she flubs it. She has been giving the same speech over and over and over. It was ugly the first time, and it is sounding like she is really stupid now and can't think of a thing to say.

McPain has reached their peak, I hope. Maybe Americans will realize we want the smart one in troubled times. The one who is remaining calm, cautious and optimistic. Maybe they will want his running mate who knows foreign policy inside out over the hockey mom when it comes to facing world problems.

Otherwise, we are screwed. Really, really screwed.

@Benny 74

Let's see Barbra Streistand v. Phil Gramm.

Which one is more important right now? Which one will have more influence over which campaign? Which one drove us in the ditch?

Which one has raised more money for their candidate, including lobbyists?

Which one was in Congress and fought for and got passed the law that deregulated a lot of the industry that now is causing this mess on Wall Street?

Who said Americans are whiners? Who is actually working on their candidate's campaign?

Who got filthy rich off Enron?

So What?

If Obama is an elitist, so what? The Republicans are making up the terms as they go along. Elitist, liberal, etc, etc, etc.

Reality is they have an old man and a woman who does not know enough to be governor of the state where is governor. She is corrupt. He is a pandering war hero (and he tells us over and over and over) that would sell his soul to the devil to be President. What other war hero BRAGS about it all the time?

Let them continue to make up names. They are calling people names while the stupidest Americans go along with it. Amazing. I cannot believe how stupid Americans have become.

If McPain win the election, we are all screwed. I never thought I could say this, but that team may actually be worse than Bush.
