@red_gti2000

And you have the same concern about those FAUX folks who would never, never, never support McCain if HE won, right?

Original article: Quote of the day

On the elderly

And I know a 96 year old lady who won't vote for Palin because she sees her as a pandering, lying two-face.

So what? What does this prove? Some don't think at all. Some will vote for McCain. But the elderly who are paying attention and are actually still THINKING are voting for Obama. The elderly are just like the younger ones: The ones that pay attention GET IT. Those that buy into the rah-rah are obtuse like their grandchildren.

So what? Some people are just sheeple.

Editors Choice

After reading all these letters, it befuddles me. Why in the world was that pro-Palin article an editors choice?

Sometimes there is not two sides to an issue. Sometimes on side is just WRONG.

Palin is one of those times. She is just flat out wrong for America, flat out unqualified as Vice President, flat out mean as a candidate.

Her sneer when talking about 'community organizers' told me all I needed to know about her.

On PBS there is a historian from time to time that has said we will know what kind of President someone will be by how they campaign.

Well, DUH! We have Hate vs. Hope for America.

It amazes me anyone will vote for hate.

Lyndon Johnson

President Johnson knew when he signed the Civil Rights Legislation he was handing the South to the Republicans.

A lot of the southern religious redneck wing of the Republican Party is about racism, bigotry, killing, domination and twisted religion.

They hate gays, blacks, Jews, educated people, Yankees, etc. I have had a few tell me they did not vote for John Kerry because he was from the North East.

These biases are out there. No one seems to talk about them because it isn't true for every Republican voter everywhere. But the shoe fits a large demographic.

And they don't vote for any Democrat, no matter if they are black, white, woman etc. Thus, the rise of the so-called 'Blue Dog' Democrats to try to appease some of these people whose family used to be Democrats. (These are some of those so-called 'Reagan' Democrats.) These Southern Religious Republicans love Sarah Palin because she kills things and carries a Bible.

There is some sick psychology here, but I am not smart enough to examine it.

This crap

This non news stuff is exactly why I did not renew my Salon subscription this year. This is a crap story with no message.

What ever happened to real issues? Good grief, after eight years of Bush can't we at least focus on what is wrong with America and how to fix it?

What NON news. And, if you have to publish everything someone says, what about the stuff McCain's looney tunes are saying?

Anyone else notice Phil Gramm is back? Where is that in depth story? Anyone care?

We really are a nation of Paris Hilton and Britney stories. We really are. No wonder we are so screwed.

Original article: Zombie feminists of the RNC

Most of us, or our friends have met her before

The Alaska mayor represents something many of us have seen many times. Under the guise of promoting women, the big boss promotes his personal assistant to a job she is totally not qualified for in any way. She is given a Vice President slot over people--both male and female--who are well prepared and better educated--for the position.

Ms. Palin represents what everyone despises. The Clarence Thomas of feminism. Those in power--yes, usually Republicans or males-- take what is supposed to be a good program to promote qualified people to slots they have been denied and MAKE A JOKE of it by promoting unqualified women or minorities while perfectly qualified women and minorities are snubbed. They are what give Affirmative Action programs a bad name. These same 'promoters' then talk about how horrific AA programs are.

We despise this type of promotion. And we know who they are. Ms. Palin is a product of one of them. This isn't feminism, it is the good ole boy network at its absolute WORST. They set feminism back decades for the rest of women.

As much as we can't stand her, we despise her boss more. McCain, you are terrible. You would be a sorry excuse for a President.
