Original article: Who's arrogant now?

Huh?

Arrogant? Isn't owning eight homes arrogant?

It amazes me how the party of the rich trick the poor people of America into voting for them based on family values. Then, the same robber barons 'help' those same poor people by doing away with their 'death tax' and keeping their capital gains tax low.

Oh, and let's ignore health care because Dubya loves Jesus. And pay more attention to gays than schools. Yes, and that arrogant black man who is really a Muslim! How dare he get out of his place!

Some days it is really difficult to live in the red states, especially when the poor Republicans are your relatives....

@John762

Picked up on your letter something I have noticed: The connection in (especially middle) America between business and religion.

I agree with you about many small businesses, they are awful. To be fair, I have met a few people who treat their employees like family. Most that I have been in, or had friends work at, however, have been just as you described. There is a small town nearby that treats employees like dirt, but the owner is always treated like a god everywhere he goes, such a fine Christian man. It is pathetic.

However, Walmart seems to be brainwashing employees. Do you know anyone that works there? Some are aware of what the company is doing and react accordingly. Some employees are suckers, and buy into the company line like it is a religion. Of course, Walmart's family values emphasize Jesus! America! The flag! Military! Republicans!

I haven't been in a Walmart in four years. Where I live, it is difficult. My friends and I make special carpool trips to avoid the damn place, but we refuse the cult. Sure, we probably go to another corporate hack, but they aren't preaching Jesus/Republican to the employees. Walmart feels like enemy territory, a rabbit hole you go down and never return.

Here is a comment

Why are you wasting the space talking about this scum of the earth?

This is about an email rumor!

There is a massive email going around about some Revelations quote that says a man of Muslim descent will rise up and be the anti-Christ.

Never mind that it doesn't exist in Revelations. Never mind that the Muslim religion came after the creation of Christianity.

This ad is to reinforce and get out the vote of the right wing nut jobs. Do not forget those nut cases went out en masse for Bush, twice.

So far they have been luke warm on McCain. This one is for them.

This is your for your real religious wackos. Like those in Colorado Springs. McCain wants Colorado. This is for them, and all the other places like that. This is actually well thought out for the evangelicals.

Forget who McCain is, they want to believe Obama is the anti-Christ!

This is all we can expect

Remember David Brooks is the one who got away with calling Democrats "latte sipping liberals." He is a smuck, from the word go.

How that guy on his multi-million dollar salary has the audacity to say anything is beyond me. However, it will catch on in America, and John McCain is probably destined to become our next pseudo hero.

Read Glen Greenwald's latest book, "Great American Hypocrites." I think Glen nailed it. Until we wake up to what tactics these slime balls use and artfully outdo them, we are doomed.

The rich are letting the working class hang themselves. And you know Brooks and his erk are having a good laugh over brandy and Cuban cigars about this.

The Truth

Obama should just run ads with the truth:

McCain did not support the GI bill.

McCain divorced his wife to marry his mistress Cindy.

McCain owns eight houses.

McCain was involved in the Keating scandal.

McCain has no health care plan.

McCain has plans to give more tax breaks to the rich and take from the poor.

McCain could care less about the average person.

Duh.

Obama, wake up. I love ya man, but these people are friggin' MEAN.

Just because

So what if the books aren't factual? Neither was the Swiftboat stuff either. That made the liars millionaires.

If McCain wins, I will become firmly convinced we are a nation of which the majority is idiots. We really, really are.

The Evil One

Don't insult Darth Vader by tying Dick Cheney to him. Somewhere deep inside Darth there was a drop of good.

Was there any good at all in the Evil Emperor? Maybe that would be a better title for Dicky.

On Nixon

I was watching a movie the other day about how Nixon was impeached. How quaint!

Tricky Dicky did nothing compared to Bush. And still our country thinks of electing another one just like him.

No wonder so many Europeans think we are stupid. Maybe we are.

Original article: What's next for Edwards?

Are you really surprised?

Damn! John Edwards was too pretty. Guys--and girls-- that pretty just have people chasing them, and unfortuately far too many of them get caught. But, beyond Elizabeth and his family, what the hell business is it of ours? Leave Elizabeth alone. Let her kill John if she wants. Let her handle this, she is one classy lady. Dragging it out on TV just makes it worse on her than John, and I bet Hillary would agree.

What phony Americans we are. We worry about other people's sex lives and could care less about dead babies from our bombs. We stick 'support our troops' yellow ribbons on our cars without giving a damn about the actual people who are troops. Who wants to pay taxes for their education?

And, ah, yes. The family values people are going to have their panties in a wad over this. They are already showing pictures on TV of Edwards with Obama. Of course FAUX is proclaiming this hurts the Democrats. Uh, why not just show pictures of McCain with Cindy?

Or, just show pictures of Bush, juxtaposed with dead Iraqis, bombed out cities or soldiers coffins. There is the real sin for the judgmental elephants.
