I am not defending Boren

The part of Oklahoma that Boren represents is worse than, well, the worst of West Virginia.

Boren represents the part of Oklahoma called "Little Dixie." A lot of people there really think that the Democratic Party should be the same one it was in 1875.

It is a long story, but an indicted slimy Democratic State Senator from that area brought them so many goodies for so long, they never switched parties. Got that? They are uber right winger Democrats.

Boren has an opponent for his House Seat from the Republicans. And believe me, that place is what most of us would consider Jesus Republican land.

Boren is not really a bad guy, he is in a pickle. Although by most of our standards he is a wuss, go talk to the people he represents. If you think you could represent those people and support a black man for President, well, literally, get a rope.

Not too many African Americans in Little Dixie. (Actually probably ZERO.) And those of you on the coast are fooling yourself to think this does not exist.

Of course it is racist, and of course Boren is an opportunist. But those people want a Democrat in Congress--they don't care how he votes--but that guy better not vote for no 'black man. '

Come walk in ole' Dan's shoes a while. If it makes you feel better, Dan would not have supported Hillary, either.

There are plenty of liberal thinkers in Oklahoma. But this state is always shown as decidedly Republican. It is ironic, but there are actually about half and half. It is just that in Little Dixie they think Democrat is Republican and vice versa.

Never said this place was anything but conservative. They are just confused on who represents them. I actually feel pity for old Dan. He has some unusual people to represent.

Correction

Let me clarify that: Oklahoma is actually about half and half registered Democrats, not liberals. I would be wrong to give anyone the impression that this state is anything put super conservative. And poor. What can I say?

On the withdrawal

By the way, why do we still have troops in Japan and Germany anyway? Isn't about time someone questioned the costs of that? It is not exactly like those two countries could not pay for their defense.

As for the Nazis, the German laws prevent that from happening again. And they are serious about it.

Attacks on Michelle?

Are these blood hounds insane? All the women that I know can't stand Cindy McCain. We all have dealt with these Stepford types.

Give us Michelle (or yes, Hillary) any day. They are strong women who get pissed at their husbands and make them get their own damn beer.

How you vote

If this does not make you really, really consider what party you vote for, think again.

One more conservative Judge on the SCOTUS and we are in for a long, national nightmare that will probably not end until most of us are long gone.

Scary indeed.

FOX Propaganda

If they are watching that faux stuff, they I am willing to bet most don't know what 'chyron' means. But they do understand Obama's baby mama. Loud and clear.

@timothyhulsey

"Creationists are many things, few of them good, but the one thing they're not is stupid."

Yes they are, and they are dangerous too. They have a few devious leaders who say things that look like science, but overall, the creationists who really believe this stuff are people who cannot form an independent thought. That is why the Republicans manipulate them so very easily.

Clark on McCain

"Is he just a guy who wants to be president and he'll say what's necessary to get the job?"

Yup.

It's Black.

Earlier this year I read from some reputable source (Business Week? Economist?) that the McCains have one of those mysterious BLACK American Express Cards that only the uber rich get. People who charge over $250K per year.

The Clinton's did not have one. The Obama's did not have one.

Only the most elite of the elite get one.

BTW, the same article that reported how much the McCain's owed on credit cards showed how much the Obama's owed on Credit Cards: $0. Hillary had not reported yet, but the last quarter, she had reported a zero balance also.

Ah, to have enough disposable income to charge $250K per year. I wonder if the Stepford wife making place takes AMEX?

Solis Doyle

Several of us wondered why Patti Solis Doyle got the shaft when, to the outsiders anyway, Mark Penn was the screw up, the asshole, the jerk, the old time dirty politician.

Maybe this means that Obama is picking a running mate that does not have a national campaign in place. Maybe Obama wants someone who doesn't run dirty politics.

It looks like a good choice, at least from the outside looking in.

Lanny Davis

Wonder how long it will be before he interviews those Democratic congressmen from Tennessee and the one from Oklahoma who refuse to endorse Obama?

No. More. Hillary.

You are so hung up! Get over it girl. You remind me of those friends of mine who never give up on their old boyfriends.

Not even five, ten, twenty or yes, even thirty years later. And those boyfriends were not anything special, it is just the IDEA of what the girlfriends made them into.

Move on for Christ's sake. Get some counseling girl.

Amazing

That these quite lengthy articles of impeachment will just sit there.

And the Republicans got Bill Clinton impeached on one trumped up charge.

Unbelievable. No wonder the world laughs at us. We are not a democracy, we are a joke.

Not Yet

As much as I want Obama to win, the author has not met the people in my state.

Republicans still rule middle America. And they still play dirty. There is plenty of work to do. Yes we can, but we must work for it.
