>Legendary entertainer Bill Cosby has enraged some in the black community by expressing his displeasure with how more than a few members of his black community act:<
I've said this before, and I'll say it again. Bill Cosby will have a right to complain about this when he sets up inner-city businesses to help break the cycle of poverty that causes many of the below problems. Sure, he's contributed tons of money to college scholarships, but the time to intercede with kids is before the local drug lords start using them as lookouts as soon as they are old enough to walk.
>violence against each other,<
Because white people don't act violently towards each other ever...
>rampant misogny,<
I'm not seeing whereas white folks have the high road here, either...
>unrestrained breeding outside marriage<
The number of whites having illegitimate babies has always outweighed the number of blacks doing so, just by sheer numbers. Afraid you can't take the "whites are morally pure" road in this regard either...
> and a propensity for being more likely to end up in prison than college for young black men are major problems. White people are NOT the causes of that pandemic within the black community, either.<
Yep, because white people didn't flee to the 'burbs and destroy the tax bases inner-city schools are dependent on. And whites don't locate jobs in places where black folks can't get to them--thereby depriving people of a chance to earn a living and provide a stable home without having to work ten jobs.
>Those are facts. As a non-member of that black community, I don't dislike them for what they are...but, for what they do.<
Because no white people are ever in the wrong about anything--it's just those black people who are ever so much more savage and uncivilized.
>And, for that, I make no apology. That isn't being a racist...that's being a realist.<
Nope, that's using the actions of some blacks to excuse your hatred of all of them.
>I don't care for the reverse racism I get on a regular basis..."white mother f*cker, paleface, p.w.t. (poor white trash, cracker"...from blacks for NO reason (my new car? my nice house? my preppy clothes? who knows?);<
I'd hazard a guess it's your attitude. Black folks have a sixth sense for those who hate/racially-fear/condescend to them--and you've hit the trifecta right here.
>it's no wonder I'd rather be around other whites...even those with whom I have nothing in common other than melanin.<
So when one of them cheats, robs, or otherwise mistreats you, what black person are you going to blame? Or are you going to be the typical racist you are and bottle all that up so you can take that out on black folks by spouting crap?
...mom or those upstanding jurors or the judge were born-againners.
I raised any number of points that were addressable. But since you 1)know nothing about black people besides "It's all those savages' fault they live in poverty." 2) are more interested in spreading your racist preconceptions than actually debating anything, it makes sense you wouldn't want to learn anything or discuss the situation rationally. And your stance is an admission of your ignorance and fear-driven hate, so your cowardice in this regard is actually a good thing all around. Toodles, babe...:)
>What strikes me as really odd is the notion of encouraging people to begin their journey of "getting in shape" by training to do a marathon.<
Ugh. It's the same kind of attitude a heavy person gets in the more elitist health clubs/gyms, where the majority of folks is already slim and beautiful and act like you have some nerve screwing up the aesthetics of "their" place.
>Sports are - or should be - about participating in healthy activities, not worshipping the lucky and talented.<
And one of the reasons so many people in this country grew up hating gym and exercise in general is because too many P.E. teachers made teaching the most talented students their priority, not teaching _everyone_ to improve their skills. That attitude generated the "picked on in gym" problem that made life hell for a lot of non-athletically-sterling students--and it made a lot of the latter equate exercise with failure and insult.
Proof positive (once again) that conservatives always see themselves as the elite-who-are-entitled-to-exploit-everyone-else. They can't fathom being exploited because that's what the "little people" are for. Eheheh...
I've found that trying to work when sick guarantees I'll just be sick longer--especially when it comes to colds/flu, which are notorious for being hard to shake. I need at least two days in bed to get rid of a cold/flu for good. As well, I'm more prone to make mistakes when I'm sick, so coming in ill is a lose-lose situation for me and the company.
