Yup...

>Half the time, you're even covering up your own in-show graphics!<

...or (which is often the case with the LAW AND ORDER franchise) neccesary subtitles...

The only thing SAVING GRACE proves...

...is that Hollywood doesn't just have it in for actresses who played unconventional/liberated characters back in the day (Jane Fonda and Diane Keaton.) They've spread their net to include the next generation of actresses. Honestly, I don't know what's worse--seeing Keaton and Fonda playing child-obsessed crazy moms (whose careers, of course, just made them crazier) or a sparkplug like Hunter playing this kind of humiliating suck-up-to-wingers role. SG is trying to have it both ways: to appeal to THE CLOSER audience and the Pat Robertson crew, and the two just don't mix.

Original article: Are men spoiled rotten?

Mind the wahhhhbulance...:)

> I fill my days up with other stuff. And nothing replaces sex with someone you care for. Nothing replaces a loving hug . . .

I am busy improving my body and my mind. I work full time, take classes, go to the gym, see indie films, write, go to concerts and see live music. I never meet anyone.<

Oh, please--you aren't truly living life, or approaching these things with real interest and enthusiasm. You make these interests sound like a hated job you have to trudge through. You're putting your life on hold for a may-n just as much as any old-school spinster did sitting at home and knitting--you're just more active about it. It's your attitude that's the problem, not your lack of of a partner.

>But frankly biding one's time until someone comes along means only you continue to be lonely even when you're busy.<

If the only way you can be happy is to have a man around all the time, well...that's just sad.

Original article: Stalking Hillary

As well...

>The reason the GOP fears the Clintons is because the Clintons know how to win. Most importantly, they have the track-record to prove it.<

They are also terrified of Hillary's Beltway experience. She not only knows all their bill-defeating tricks, she also knows how/where to start rooting out the ghastly appartichicks the GOP are strewing throughout the government. Unlike Obama and Edwards, she knows how to clean their clocks and do end-runs around any fake-ass impediments they may throw her way.

Original article: "Becoming Jane"

Not always so...

>...but if there is one thing that the history of popular cinema has taught us, it is that audiences do love gazing at beautiful people on the big screen.<

1) Some of the biggest stars ever were not beautiful people. In fact, in real life, a good many looked odd or downright plain.

2) Beautiful people who can't act only get so much slack. Or am I missing all those hit movies starring Cindy Crawford? :)

3) Beautiful people have to bring more to the table than just beauty. They don't have to be Liev Schreiber or Olivier, but they should at least have personality--or play themselves with a sense of humor. I doubt if Giselle Bunchen will be the next Streep, for example, but the couple of times I've seen her in movies (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA and TAXI), she's been amusing and has a nice air of not taking herself seriously.

Original article: Are men spoiled rotten?

Because...

>Why this anger directed specifically at older women? If we're all so gross and disgusting, why not just leave us alone and go chase after sweet, young hotties?<

1) Because these men feel they are _entitled_ to young, beautiful women--just as they feel they are entitled to the privileges feminism is slowly finishing off. Women are their mirrors through which they feel powerful and any woman who won't reflect them makes them feel powerless and angry. If women won't "complete" them, how will they ever be happy? They can't do it by themselves, apparently...g!

2) Because it's their nature to punish "inferiors" in order to make themselves feel better. When they are young, it's the "ugly" girls they look down on and insult. When they are older, it's older women. They have to feel that no matter how miserable they are, there is a class of folks who are worse off than them.

3) Because older women represent the mothers these guys hate; the hotties who wouldn't give them the time of day--and the "ugly" girls who went on to have lives and happiness. Notice that Ben Dover and his ilk _really_ get enraged at the idea that women have other things to do than be their mirrors or whipping girls.

4) Because to them, being "real" men means being forever strong and young--and older women inconveniently remind them that that is an illusion...and unsustainable, at that.

At least Novak is still breathing...

...which is probably a lot more that can be said for Plame's network of contacts this fool also helped out...

Tuesday, August 7, 2007 09:41 AM

And now he's living on the streets in a box, to boot...

>[Plamegate] cost me financially, it cost me very heavy legal fees -- about $160,000. And then you have, beyond that, I wasn't on 'Meet the Press' for a number of years, and it helped poison my relationship with CNN ...<

...and Rove won't even give him a crust o' bread...:).
