The true test of elitism

The best way to test and demonstrate liberal elitism is merely to survey the traditional candidates in the presidential race. The Democratic side traditionally include well known elitist Al Sharpton. On the other side, we can see that good old boy GWB was only there because, since he was a Yale graduate like his father, being president like his father was almost an entitlement He was not trying to be "uppity" at all.

Tim Russerts, Matt Lauers and Suzanne Malvaeux are media stars?

I thought this was going to be about Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. Glenn, lets tidy up the terminology here.

It's all very clear now...

Don Imus was actually using NY Lesbion lingo to describe womens championship in terms of Spike Lee's movie "School Daze." This was merely a case of miscommunication between mutually exclusive cross sub-cultural discourse.

Construction of Conventional Wisdom, Republican Style

The Republican right wing believes that it is important to keep homosexual influences out of family life because it will obviously have a negative ( homosexual influence ) on any children.

Accepted Fact: Dick Cheney's Daughter is homosexual.

Conclusion: She was victimized by by homosexual influences in the home, presumably her father "Dick".

Newly accepted common knowledge: Dick Cheney promotes the homosexual lifestyle in order to gain acceptance by George Bush and the homosexual community in the White House and as a result, the Pentagon.

Who will be the next "Victor Ashe"

Half of Us?

There is a current ad campaign on mtvU for the site "half of us", www.halfofus.com, for which the namesake statistic warns us that half of all college students get so depressed at times they cannot function. Ok, now they know how to get treatment. Do the PreCogs ( as in minority report ) in the government know how to go out and defend universities from "that half" of their students? The database is a useless, after the fact exercise into invasion of peoples right to privacy. It is designed to be a political tool to track and harass political opponents and nothing else.

Is depressed becomming the normal state?

Ok, accepting Mtv's (advertisers) statistic that Half of all college students become so depressed at some time that they cannot function, what happens when 60% of all college students show signs of depression?

It seems to me that we have two options. We can essentially put everyone on antidepressants, or let them be depressed and declare happy people to be abnormal. If everyone is either on controlled substances, or shows signs of "abnormal levels of contentedness", then we are approaching the 100 percent threat level. Everyone is a suspect. We are going to need some really big databases to keep tabs on everything about everyone.

Better keeping tabs on everything about everyone than having another 9/11.

Not around the corner

I am hoping all of my serious depression is behind me. It's better to be chipper than have another 9/11.

Legal opinion please?

There is some creepy gun guy also from VT who people thought was the murderer. He at first said he was not the shooter, then said he was the shooter, then claimed that he would donate the procedes from adsense clicks on his website to the victims. Now he wants to sue people who hate his guts and are sending him hate email. Actually I think it is pretty hateful to have a creepy website and impersonate a shooter while the guy has not been apprehended. Much of the initial description of the shooter that came out was actually about this guy, who got a link from Wired early. He was interfering with the identification process. If I sent him some hatemail, would I get in trouble?

His journal with screengrabs from Drudge is here:

Is a compromise possible? Maybe they were French! Yes, Thats the ticket

The men were first reported as Palestinian. Then Israeli. How about a compromise. The French proudly claim they warned the U.S. about the pending attacks. Condi Rice is confirmed to have given warning to GWB in Crawford, and at the time he seemed to be concerned. The warnings we got, wherever they came from, named Bin Laden. That is now not even debatable. You are a lunatic.

Assult weapons are the problem

Neocons argue that if everyone had gunes, it could have been stopped. Even then, It would not have taken semi-auto fire and rapid change clips to stop him. Only the perpetrater needs the assault technology.

Someone within the U.S was tracking Atta

Condi's Crawford Memo to GWB indicates that someone, the FBI probably, was tracking the plot. The later stages of the operation took place in Florida, not Germany. Daniel Hopsicker detailed Bush cronies involvement in flight training for Atta. The flight training was in the U.S. All those instructors not in on the plot tried to warn the government. We had more knowledge and critical planning than the israelis. Read about the FBI coverup during the trial of the captured attacker.

Everyone knew about 9/11 including GWB

When George Bush knows he is going to have a really bad day, he goes to elementary school classrooms. For example, he recently knew he was going to have a bad day during the Gonzales testimony, so he did what any responsible person would do, he visited an elementary school classroom. The details of is mindless babbling about carpets was kindly covered by salon:

By coincidence, on 9/11/01, GWB as also babbling mindlessly in an elementary school classroom. Did he know he was going to be having a bad day? You are asking us to read a lot into what the Mossad knew or did not know based upon the one reference you gave. In fact, the proposal that GWB knew the date as well as the basics of the plot ( which is now publicly acknowledged ) has much stronger evidence to support it.

Duck and Cover

The Gonzoles testimony was going to be a duck and cover day, much like 9/11. Getting busy teaching elementary school seems is now an official white house duck and cover strategy.
