  • We Have Choices That Need to be Made

[Read the article: Electrocute Bill Keller! No, hang him!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

We can either run to the government (the FCC in this case) and ask them to "Make it stop!" or we can, to quote our ally Steve Earle, "F the CC" as per usual, continue to support all speech as free, and take these swine on head-on for a change. They will fall under their own weight. People ask "Isn't this how it started in Germany?" Well, the simple answer is yes. That was Germany. We are Americans. "Isn't this similar to Islamist rhetoric?" Yes - but we are not a Muslim nation - not a religious state - and again, we are Americans. We are not obligated to change our First Amendment article of faith the moment the wrong people start abusing it. It's been done by the left as well over the years and we've supported those abusers merrily. Now it's time for us to put all our cards on the table and take these sows and swine to the intellectual abattoir located at the base of the altar of Truth and kick their asses the way Americans were designed to: by exposing them for the pigs they are. No one wants to look stupid, but until we expose the stupidity, the hatefulness and the manifest and willful ignorance of these people by countering it with facts - even facts the FCC doesn't want aired, so fuck them too - this Big Lie and Hate fest will just go on supporting the dwindling number of human embarrassments this country harbors as the price we all pay for being relatively free.

It isn't hard: just act as Americans instead of wingnuts of either extreme. Just stand, for god's sake and tell it like it is. We haven't had the balls to do this in decades, so fearful we've become of offending some little nutball faction of our own. We can talk too, and we can talk better. We just need to get over the dreaded plague of political correctness favoring our own morally handicapped and say and do what is best for the greatest number of people. We could start by gutting (intellectually and philosophically only, of course) the moronic talking heads of the far, far Wrong, and for the love of god, let's not send someone like Al Franken to do it.
