children tend to reject the values of their parents. They want to do stuff that will piss them off.
Second. The author of this study is waaaaaaaaaay too linear. Things happen. Creation unfolds as it goes along and you never know what's a'comin' down the pike.
As far as I am concerned, I will do my best at all times, to live honorably and to
recognize the DIVINE in everyone and everything.

This super crazy being, this Yahweh/Jehovah/Allah entity, who calls himself GOD,
can kiss my ass. Even now, the Cosmic Guys in the white coats are closing in
on him with their nets and he's fighting like hell not to be taken. It's all coming
to a head.
We don't have to live under his nonsense.

Dear Brightstar-Your ideas have very little relationship to reality. Did someone tell you all this and
it some how lodged itself in your head, apparently never to be swayed by what's actually going on
in the world?
I do agree with you when you state that you wear your heart on your sleeve but you just seem VERY confused and definitly angry. Do you have a girlfriend?
If not, it seems you are blaming feminists (although I prefer the Alice Walker term "womanist")
for YOUR inability to connect.
By the way, men have to go to war to fight other men. Men start the damn wars and it has nothing to do with protecting anybody. Women, children, babies, the young, the elderly, animals, the environment, everything gets killed/destroyed when men fight each other to prove who is the stronger.
And it's really all just a game to them. You want to see just how stupid and vicious men can be see how they behave during wartime. I think men themselves are just as much victimized by this insane Patriarchal system as everyone else.
Anyway Brightstar, have a safe journey back to your home planet. Remember to fasten your seat belt.

they START the damn things. So your analogy is off.
About women having the babies. Did you know that every 4 seconds a woman gives birth?
Our problem is to find that woman and stop her!

This business about Christians being persecuted: Christians are finally being called on their b.s. and that makes them feel they are being persecuted.
Is Darcy Steinke a real person? We get these essays every now and again about how some doubter or another has decided to throw in the towel and embrace nonsense. It's kind of like Dr. Strangelove ("How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb). And Sister Leslie is just plain creepy. Although I'm sure she means well.
Ben Franklin was totally right (yet another reason to like him) when he said Christian dogma is totally indecipherable. It makes no sense whatsoever. And it has nothing to do with what The Christ was all about. He was all about LOVE. LOVE is the deal, LOVE is the bottom line.
There is very little in the Bible that is original, most of it came from other belief systems. The term Bible itself comes from the city of Byblos, dedicated to the Goddess of Knowledge. The term "Easter" comes from the same root word as Estrus, Estrogen, etc: It's all about female fertility, baby.
By the way, while a good writer, CS Lewis was a major weinie. Scared to death of adult females, among other things.
I can't even fathom how Anonymous's mind works. All that blather about humankind being "fallen" and getting "redeemed" The disconnection going on there is amazing. Whatever gets you through the night, I guess.

What Would I Do????

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Sitting here in my safe little cabin I'd like to think that I could have taken down that gunman at VTI, especially when he was reloading. After all, I have taken several years of Kenpo Karate and actually spent an entire Saturday learning how to disarm a gunman when one has no gun ( the technique comes from a Martial Arts system called KRAV MAGA, developed by an Israeli.) All very easy to say.
What I do know is that those students, like most Americans, and indeed most people on this planet, are trained to behave like sheep. Especially when a man with a gun shows up. "Above all, don't think! Obey! And when the shit comes down, Remember: God loves you!!" At a candlelight vigil Those VTI students were actually singing "I could sing of Your Love forever...." Big freakin' help. No matter how awful the occurance: slaughtered students, raped and murdered children,endless wars, Not to worry! God loves you!
In this day and age, Martial Arts training should be mandatory, starting in grade school.

They lost credibility when they didn't examine GWBush even for a second in the run up to the 2000 election and trashed Al Gore up one side and down the other and did the same thing in 2004 to Kerry.
And now they are treating Obama like the Golden Boy. Same sh*t, different day.
