Wrong!

Now Walsh is worse than Imus. The coach the coach of Rutgers said, "Imus stole our moment". Nothing could be further from the truth. It was in fact the Rutgers team who stole the moment from the National Champions, TENNESEE. Does anyone realize that Rutgers lost the game, not because of IMUS, but because of TENNESSEE. At 59 - 46 it was hardley even a nail biter. And yet with the aid of Al Sharpton and Joan Walsh, the Rutgers Women managed to "Steal the moment" form the rightful owners - TENNESSEE. Does that mean that Imus shouldn't have apologized. Of course he should, and seemed willing. Who should Imus have apologized to? The Rutgers women of course, not Al Sharpton or Joan Walsh or any other YAPPY HEADED HO's.

As young women who are presumably aproaching not only adulthood, but a complete education, why couldn't they have spoken for themselves? But, what would have Joan Walsh have managed to mold that opportunity to her advantage?

I bet that Salon will not interview the people to whom the moment belonged, the women of TENNESSEE, because it is run by a shallow bimbo, who can not be more creative than mimicking the antics of Al Sharpton.

The answer? Abolish HD TV

There is about zero chance that Joan Walsh or Al Sharpton actually watched the game, but if they had been in a spectator sports establishment and watched the game in HD, they probably would have agreed with Imus. So how expert are these experts? Who is the current national champion? No clue. Who was last years national champion? I think I will have to go look that one up.

One thing for sure. No Rutgers basketball player will ever have to get out their purse in a beauty shop again. All they will have to say is "Rutgers Basketball" and the proprieters will say "oh sweetheart, you need the works, don't worry, it's on us." Over the course of a lifetime, this could easily be milked into a six figure value.

But what about the national champions? There is a footnote about them if you search deeply enough on the scarlet knights website:

"Tennessee was big and all those other things, but they killed us on the boards, and it was a matter of (us)blocking out. We have played against other big people, and blocking out is an effort thing that anybody and everybody can do," Stringer added. "When you look at a team as big as them, then you have to do it, and we just didn't."

Actually, the word "big" is not very flattering either, at least not in this context. Given a choice between "big" and "nappy headed", I would probably have to go with nappy headed. That is much easier to change. With all of the attention that Rutgers is generating, it will not belong before the women of Tennessee will be saying " Hey what about us? We are a bunch of nappy headed hos too."

Nobody has as little respect for female athletes as women, in particular Joan Walsh. I see it as the manifestation of two primary problems: ignorance and stupidity and insensitivity. How many does that make? Doesn't matter, everyone if focused on the wrong injustice.

The word count

The Rutgers basketball team called the women of Tennessee "big" three time is three sentences. Does anyone else see a pattern? Rutgers lost, not because they couldn't shoot the ball in the basket, but because Tennessee was "big". Let's wash their mouths out with soap.

Why do religious politicians need their own college?

Bill poses the question:

How do you get to be such a top dog at 33? By acing Harvard, or winning scholarship prizes? No, Goodling did her undergraduate work at Messiah College -- home of the "Fighting Christies," who wait-listed me, the bastards -- and then went on to attend Pat Robertson's law school.

Answer: because they are elite!

How big were they anyway?

Coach C. Vivian Stringer explained after the game, as taken from the website of the Scarlet Knights:

Tennessee was big and all those other things, but they killed us on the boards, and it was a matter of (us)blocking out. We have played against other big people, and blocking out is an effort thing that anybody and everybody can do," Stringer added. "When you look at a team as big as them, then you have to do it, and we just didn't.

In any case, the lead scorer for the Scalet Knights was Kia Vaughn with 20 points.

According to the roster, Scarlet Knights lead scorer Kia Vaughn is 6'4. I cannot imagine how big the Lady Vols where. I used to play football, and I would have been towered over had I been on the court at that game.

Given that "classy" C. Vivian Stringer sees the game coming down to bigness, look to see the even bigger women in next years game.

The Tale of the Tape:

From the Lady Vol's website, a brief recap:

Parker scored 17 points to lead the Volunteers (34-3), but the most outstanding player got plenty of help from Shannon Bobbitt and a supporting cast of less-heralded teammates, who too often this season stood around and watched her.

From the roster, Candace Parker is 6-4 but Shannon Bobbitt is a petite 5-2, making her one of the smallest young women on the court. Neither the recap, nor Imus' narrative indicate that it was a physical contest. The Lady Vols ran up a 16 point lead early, then just slowed it down and moved the ball around to hold on to an easy win. Coach Stringer's inappropriate comment makes it sound as though they lost a goal line stand against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Looking at Imus's full transcript, his account may have been more accurate that Stringers published description on her website.

Imus is not involved in education. He is not a representative of the NCAA. If Imus goes, Stringer has to go too.
