Sure she screwed up the whole country, but where is the hair-obsessed Politico when you need them?
That honestly is the worst straightened hair in the history of crappy, dark-n-lovely home straightening. Every black woman I know howls at the mention of Condi's hair. Speculation runs deep that she's still doing it herself.
She has time to shop for shoes, but not to run to the local beauty parlor for a professional perm? Geesh.
Can someone explain the Ireland crack? I don't get it.
They have universal healthcare. What they don't have is a prime minister; that office is called the taoseich in Ireland.
The interesting thing to me about boxing's decline is the contemporaneous rise of mixed martial arts and especially the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Not only do I find the latter to be much more interesting to watch, I like how they have gone about marketing it.
Gonzo's plan is progressing nicely I think. He's ready to run out the clock for as much of the next 20 months as possible. I say, even if they don't ever get to impeach anyone, keeping the DoJ focused on defending themselves in Congress limits their ability to continue with the regular criminal activities like undermining the judicial and election systems of this country.
He is a menace to our constitution and our Republic. Do not let his social issue stances fool you. He is, in fact, the only possible person in the world who would lead me to cast a vote for Hillary.
I didn't see the newsconference and I think the decision to suspend the players was idiotic, but I can still see how Stu Jackson's comment about fairness might make sense in some contexts.
For example, if one student is suspended for fighting on a Wednesday in November and another is suspended the Friday night of the prom inj June, it does seem (cosmically) fair that one suspension is obviously more punitive than the other for the same offence. But rules state that you are suspended the day you fight and so one could see an administrator saying "well, it's not about what's fair, but about the rule" without being completely divorced from reality.
any chance that is what happened to Jackson?
Thanks for bringing up the hockey. I'll admit the Sabres are in a spot of trouble, but the NHL is due for a team to come back from an 0-3 deficit, so why not us?
is it just me or does everyone else freaking hate Ottowa and every god-forsaken Ottowa fan with their clean streets, polite policemen and their stinking deep friend beaver tales -- not to mention their complete inability to pronounce the letter "o". It's not just me, is it?
I mean WTF? who names their team after the branch of government that doesn't even have constiutiional power (as opposed to our sentae which has just failed to exercise it)?
Go sabres.
Yes, you are of course correct and I humbly will promise to proofread before I post in the future. And truth be told, i could probably get behind fried dough in any form -- even a beaver tail -- but I still have a visceral reaction against Ottowa. It's like Canberra -- what kind of person lives there?
geesh, if i've counted right, there's about a dozen shits no one is giving anyone.
King's readers are such a nice little community of likeminded (Wes excluded) sports fans, that I don't think it is too much of a problem if we few hockey fans talk about our little sport a bit. is it?
here in Buffalo, hockey is what we have in lieu of an economy or a future for our children. So we cherish it the way someone in a growing part of the country probably can't imagine.
King will write about hockey whenever it catches his attention (like when the Blues make a run and Buster's graduating from med school) and in the meantime, we'll just keep adding comments.
Buffalo is seven and then onto Detroit!
If you can't play at least one game a year on a naturally frozen rink in your home city, you can't have a team.
I'd love to see a league with teams in Quebec City, Winnipeg, London, Halifax, St John's and Saskatoon in Canada and in Milwaukee, Denver, maybe something in the middle, I don't know, Omaha. Put one back in Hartford. Maybe the Upper Peninsula could support a team against Detroit, but that's a tough sell. (God I hate Gary Bettman).
As for Canada and the cup... well, maybe if it was Montreal I could get behind that.
1. I don't care if anyone else likes hockey as long as they let show the games locally.
2. The Buffalo affiliate didn't switch over to the pre-race coverage, but this was probably just to prevent the villagers with pitchforks and torches from storming the studio and parading their heads on pikes.
3. of course, we were too busy crying into our Labatt Blues (geesh, we don't even have a goddamned local beer that's not Canadian) to muster too much outrage.
4. Is it just me or are those curling girls hot? I do have a preference for them long and leggy, but really, just how hot were Cassie Johnson and Jamie Haskell in 2006? mmmmmm.....
