@Klytus

I just had to laugh and then applaud your imagery...

"a big bad Jiffy Pop that's about to burst open who knows when...I mean it's like he's wearing his Rush maternity clothes until the spawn has sprung...he appears to favor black." [my note: black is "slimming"]

sentimental journey

I was raised in a small town on the Western Slope of Colorado. The Rocky Mountain News was delivered early each morning, there waiting for us on the front porch. I'm feeling rather "Garrison Keillorish" about the paper's demise. Perused over breakfast. I couldn't miss Ashleigh Brilliant's "Pot Shot" of the day. Read more fully by my parents after dinner, and more fully by me as I got older. It was "my paper" as I grew up. When I left for college to Boulder CO, I still read that paper. And after college, when I moved to NYC, I still got clippings from that paper from my dad (articles of interest and lots of Broncos stuff!) and then had access myself online. NYTimes et al got my adult self. But I have true affection for The Rocky Mountain News. I'm not qualified to judge its content (or "what it became"). It's simply a significant part of my past. And now that I live in Scottsdale AZ, I cannot imagine it could have been any more disdainful than the Arizona Republic.

@klytus

I'm watching Delay on Hardball again.......WHY IS HE THERE? Rhetorical question. Ok, I can't get at least a nod hello from thee when I've written/published an ode to thee.........?

(Meaning: you are missed and Joan said so, too, and Faulkner quite greatly gets a shout out, but I don't.....?) t'ain't fair, t'ain't right, unless you don't really care that I have your hummus recipe.................

mea culpa, Klytus

Serious business...that's true.

Don't run with scissors.

May cause fissures.

Can't play well with others,

well, then, disappoint and maim mothers.

(good to hear from you ;)

DeLay on Hardball

The minute DeLay appeared on the show, my husband started typing furiously on his laptop. "What up?" I ask. Turns out he was emailing MSNBC "inquiring" (in a more like slamming way) why crooked crock DeLay is still being given major air time. Made me proud :)

I'm with others, Joan...please talk to your friend Matthews and then report back to us: "What up?"

Now I'm up way too early with Morning Java on MSNBC and learning about a new web site...www.dccc.org....offering a template apology letter to Limbaugh. Very useful for the GOP.

Fine article, Joan. GEH!

@Chris Deignan

Great post re: King Lear casting. Now you got me wondering...is there a Cordelia to be found on that side of the aisle?

jack and jill...

went up a hill to fetch a pail of water; jack fell down and broke his crown, and jill went tumbling after.

So that explains the brain damage. And you insult those who have it. You've offered nothing productive, constructive nor positive on this site.

Original article: Scoring Gibbs vs. Cheney

Amazing

We've seen more of Cheney in the last two weeks than we did for the last eight years. Oh. Except for that hunting incident.

rubbish

The only way I'd buy copies of this book would be to host a massive bonfire.

Original article: Faux outrage at Fox News

Honesty -- OUCH!

Hard to imagine such a backlash for telling the truth. Then again, it is Faux News. How can I stil get amazed?
