nah, klytus...

You can't mesmerize with Robitussin! (Even though in one of my favorite Chris Rock HBO specials, he talked about his dad saying "get the "'Tussin" to cure any ailment.)

I'm about ready to take a Percaset because I really bummed up my leg a couple weeks back. But that doesn't mean I can mesmerize! If only............

@prestoni

"Shadow Dictatorship in the making..."

In the making...?

No, happening. Where have we all been the last eight years?

But that forest for the trees thing, seems tricky for the voter republic.

@klytus

I'm a history buff, but not a history afficionado as some of my favorite writers (make that: commenters, not necessarily columnists) on this site are, but I had this early-on and continuing fascination with Rasputin. He *mesmerized* Nicholas & Alexandra. Is that's what's happening today? And who's doing the mesmerizing? Palin? McCain? The Messiah Obama? And who's the symbol for the ailing bleeder child--our country? Rhetorical questions.

BTW--I am soooooo tired of being told I'm brainwashed and not feminist for being an Obama supporter. I'd vote for Tina Fey over Palin, and if Hillary had run the winning campaign, I'd be in her corner...kinda like Mick was to Rocky. Some folks are tired of being denigrated by Obama-tons. I say there's just as much ugly talk being put toward anybody who thinks I drank the Kool-Aid (TM) and have an altar set up in my LR to worship The One!

Guess I'm mad tonight, hence the multiple postings.

@dcsarcasm

OT but I had to ask.....where is Ludlow, CO? I was raised in a small town in CO, western slope (Delta), but I really don't remember a Ludlow. Just curious. I could instead do "the Google" and look it up on that "Internets" of course ;)

Anyway, your anger is clear and you're not alone and let's just fuel it to good and do whatever we can. I ain't giving up! (And that doesn't just mean on the Dem party, it means I want my country to be well.)

was that prior response from...

Klytus?

Festus?

Or Rasputin?

It's getting so hard to tell.

@gushymoderate

"Any potential Commander-in-Chief has to be prepared to send sons and daughters of this country to fight--and possibly die."

Yes. True. Isn't is their duty to also consider the nature and necessity and viability of the war?

The VP Dem candidate Biden's son, Beau Biden, is shipping off to Iraq also. That seems to be forgotten in the current campaign coverage. And perhaps that is possibly sorta kinda because his father didn't make a publicity event of it. (Oh, gee, I have to admit that Beau introduced his father at the Dem convention, but did Joe & Beau do a photo-opp since?) And Beau's older than Track and has a great job. No credit to this son of a candidate?

My focus is: Who's going to end this reckless war? And do the best to get us out of other wars? And finally find bin Laden?

Somehow I just don't think that would be Sarah (and Todd).

Tuesday, September 16, 2008 12:28 AM

uncle fester & klytus the same person...?

And I thought I couldn't be shocked anymore.

@nick ray

Up to page 6...

Thanks for injecting some sense into this thread.

@missioncreep

Who Said Nobody on This Site Admits to Supporting Obama?

I do.

-- missioncreep

I ADMIT IT, TOO! AND I DON'T EVEN HATE HILLARY---OR BILL!

@underanothername

I don't know if you'll ever see this comment, but dang, you really hit my gut, going way back on a turning-point for me RE: "The Women's Room." If I just say the following quote, from the character Val, I think you (and likely some others) would recall it: "Shit and string beans."

Just adding one other thing not addressed specifically to you: OF COURSE THERE ARE NANNIES! Sheeeeez.

Tuesday, September 16, 2008 12:06 AM

I'm up to page 3...

And I still haven't drunk any Kool-Aid (tm) for at least 20-30 years. I wouldn't even serve it to any kids I care about today. Apple or some other juice diluted is better for them.

haven't even read the article

I probably will, and I have no idea how anybody else responded in the comments (though I could probably do verbatim the troll replies), and I certainly wouldn't respond in any substantive way until I did read article + comments, but WOW!

Just reporting first reaction: ANOTHER PALIN ARTICLE!

Monday, September 15, 2008 07:44 PM
Original article: "Hockey Moms for Truth"

satire to the nth great degree!

And it was SATIRE, not the *serious* erroneous fallacy-filled Swift Boat attack.

I'm coming in early on the comments, so I have seen some really great postings so far (before the trolls & mad others get launched). I would like to compliment several posters, but I'll have to narrow down for space-sake, and say---hey, Jeannette, you did me in! And debaser, too!

Now I guess I'll go back to watching my football game (and wow, I'm a girl! well, a girl of 49 who comes from a football family) and I like hockey, too. Just don't think it's fair to skip out on snack supervisor duties!
