Who is/are the "YOU" that you use so broadly?
"You trash and insult the Clinton's and their supporters."
What a wide-encompassing net you have. I and many, many other Obama supporters have never trashed and insulted the Clintons and their supporters.
"You foist an inexperienced man with no accomplishments as the nominee, and then call us racists when we don't like the choice."
I don't believe he is inexperienced with no accomplishments, and perhaps you've missed the multiple times that so many people have tried to give a rundown on that, posting his credentials succinctly and without any rancor or even any comparison to Hillary's credentials. As for racism, that's only for those who actually or subconsciously are. I and many, many others have not blanketed all Hillary supporters as being racist.
"You act like you won the party nomination with a landslide;refuse to unify the party, and nominate the 18,000,000 vote getter as vice president.
Of course it wasn't a landslide. I and many, many others have not forgotten a hard-fought primary season and have not dismissed the sheer volume and importance of the votes for Hillary.
"When your opponent grasps women's anguish at once again no woman on a presidentail ticket and selects Palin, you trash her like you trashed Hillary."
I believe Hillary is a far superior candidate for ANY higher office than Palin is--no contest. If Hillary were the nominee, I'd be beating the bushes (no pun intended) to get her elected. With Palin in the VP running, my only goal is to promote the fact that Palin is not a better candidate in any way, shape or form.
"Now when your losing do you admit mistakes, show why you would be better for the nation, no you moan and knash your teeth. You don't have the stomach for the compromise necessary to win or govern. You deserve to lose."
I and many, many others would admit mistakes on the Obama camp's part, back then and now. Would you admit any mistakes on the Clinton camp's part? Any? Especially any that weren't tucked into misogyny and/or sexism? I could think of several mistakes on both sides.
So you say "we" deserve to lose. Doesn't "we" include you? Maybe not, if you're not or no longer a Democrat.
I am honestly not trying to be "snarky" here (snarky seems to be the latest buzzword ;) It's just that Obama and his supporters have been well trashed and insulted, too--you can't have failed to notice that, even on these Salon message boards? But I, for one, and I know I'm not alone, would not turn that around and say all Clinton supporters are terrible bad awful people because *some* of them threw out the trash talk.
Anyway, I'm a Democrat and that's how I'm voting. I happen to like Obama (and Biden) for many reasons. If Hillary were on the ticket, I'd be fine with that, too. I know for sure, however, that I can't stomach the idea of McCain/Palin. Setback City! (for the country and for women...IMHO) Hillary has expressed her wishes, clearly and graciously, given the situation. And again IMHO, I think anyone who goes for Palin as a disaffected Hillary voter is insulting Hillary. If you or others can't align with the Democratic ticket, then at least don't opt for a pale Palin substitute--that's my plea. But if that's the only option you see, or third-party seems better if not viable, then go for it. It's a crap shoot, after all.
Not here to get the red medal and not jealous (at all) because I wouldn't be proud of having written it. Just sayin'..."WTF are we Germans?" is the bestest of the posts? Really?
BO. Barack Obama. I know how to spell, but acronyms do me in ;)
Meant "OB" in prior post...
I've listened to the McCain stump speeches and ads about all the (usurped from OB) change and reform platform they'll bring in every direction possible. What I sorely find lacking is: HOW????????? Words, words, words. Peruse the Obama site, is my view---gee, actual plans and strategies and proposals.
"You are aware that there are not caucuses in the general, aren't you?"
Yes.
I'm agreeing with you that there are MUCH bigger concerns to be addressing...including "WHAT IS GOING ON WITH OUR MONEY."
Less of what's-her-name and more of substance on Salon.
I'm getting more of my "learning" (as far as Salon) from the letters thread than from the articles from which they spawn.
I have a problem with getting Sarah! Regardless of who comes along with her!
If Todd has more national and international knowledge and exposure then she does, then hey, that's all to the good. Trouble is, I don't believe he does. Conundrum.
