I'm not sure which is sadder, that Ellen looks like Gunnar or that Gunnar looks so much like a 40 something lesbian!
I saw both of these interviews, and many others during the Olympics and was struck by how negative they were.
With Miller in particular there seemed to be an attitude that he had some kind of contract with the media to win Gold, and anything else meant he was a lazy drunk who just partied and was essentially a worthless person and athlete. They endlessly pointed out his short inspections of runs, and the change of skis in the first race.
And what of Bob Costa's very creepy pimping for Shaun White when he interviewed Sasha Cohen. My skin was crawling as I watched Sasha have to very elegantly talk her way out of spending the night in a Turin hotel room with the "Flying Tomato" so that Bob could have his fairy tale ending. It was grotesque.
Have you ever heard the lesbian feminist music played at women's music festivals? The same matter of factness that makes this theme song capital "L" Lame pervades the genre. For the target audience of the "L Word", it is close to being "Hey Jude".
