Spend a little time in Kansas politics and whoever wrote and "researched" the blurb about our red state would understand Brownback is anything but a sure thing for the governorship. Oh and the link, supposed to show how it's "likely" he will win, did you actually read it, or just link to the first thing you found in google? It's got nothing to do with your story at all. Sloppy work, Salon staff.
And Denis Leary's definition ain't it. Thinking women are good at x and men are good at y, that women rule the world and men are "just sort of in it", needing someone else to tell a man why his girlfriend's pissed at him, come on. Half of that is the same crap that He's Just Not That Into You whines about, and the other half is sexist determinism. His feminism sounds more like Sarah Palin's, and we all know she's about as sexist as they come.
Fucking hell. Good to know decrying sexism in the media's portrayal of political candidates not named Clinton isn't one of Salon's priorities. Seriously, that photo is beyond offensive. Is your whole editorial staff composed of asshat misogynists?
Palin's daughter being pregnant is EXACTLY something that Obama needs to talk about because of McCain's stance on sex ed. Both McCain and Palin think abstinence-only until marriage is something schools should be teaching. Both McCain and Palin are a-okay with teaching kids birth control and condoms don't work. This policy is sucking money out of the federal government and any state that accepts the money, since in order to do so, state funds must match the federal grant. Abstinence-only sed ed DOESN'T WORK, and this is the example Obama should be using to wake people up to that fact. You wanna teach your own kids sex is bad and the pill causes cancer, you're an idiot, but whatever. You wanna be President or Vice-President of this country and teach EVERY kid that? THAT'S why it's not a smart move. Policy matters, and Obama needs to recognize that.
This kind of crap is why I read Salon so infrequently. Perhaps if Ms. Walsh is so concerned with the "extremism" of Rev. Wright she should join Senator McCain's campaign as a PR exec. Because the only thing about Wright's interview with Moyers is this response to it.
Good luck changing America though, Joan. What changes were you looking for again?
