...and it was entirely because of his caps on emissions. He is the only republican I voted for on the entire ballot.
Most importantly, our politicians need to make large moves on the environment irregardless of whether it is an election issue or not. The public doesn't need to decide what gets on the front burner. That is why we elect people. To govern.
Arnold did what he needed to do irregardless of party, hot button issues, or electability, and irregardless of whether the public was demanding it. California was not demanding that Arnold sign into law (in conjunction with the Democrats in state legislature who drew this up) the most significant environmental law of the last 2 decades. Arnold did this anyway. He governed. And good for all of us that he did. And good for any politician that understands that energy independence, green energy, clean environment, conservation are the most important issues of this nation. No one is going to care about their position on gun control, abortion, gay marriage, etc...when their city is underwater or experiencing a 140 degree heat wave.
His organization claims to represent 30 million, but is just a blanket organization with loose affiliations with a bunch of disparate churches and partner organizations. This is nothing more than a self aggrandizing media think tank, that attempts to influence the public by appearing in the media and giving the appearance of a large representation. This is not an actual organization with literally 30 million dues paying members that vote the way the leadership commands.
"Heckler Subdued at Sen. Allen Event"
The above is the title on the AP story carried in Forbes, New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and the Washington Post.
The media's term for a citizen other than themselves that asks questions of our representatives: Heckler.
What does a citizen who asks questions without a press pass need? To be subdued.
Another term for assault and battery: Subdue.
To approach this from your weepy emotional level degrades the loss of life, the nature of conflict, and does a disservice to those who would want real change.
Take a gun and shoot your neighbor's wife. Then apologize. I'm sure it would make you "feel" a little better. Shame on all of you for buying into this self appeasing drivel.
This nation needs real people with real solutions. People willing to pick up a rifle in the face of fascism, and people willing to put down a rifle when diplomacy would better serve. What this nation doesn't need is a bunch of whiny, sniveling, doe eyed apologists. Iraq has been in a civil war the moment our troops entered that nation. If people like yourself, rely on the embedded news to tell you when you can or can not feel hopeful regarding Iraq, you are in a sorry state of misinformation. I can tell you that you could stop being hopeful about the future of Iraq, decades ago when our CIA backed a Stalinist future dictator named Saddam Husein with money and weapons in a coup d'etat. At least know what you are apologizing for.
Your opinion of Iraqis is equally low. "What we have done to them." All of Iraq are your feeble children. In your myopic self centered world, they share no culpability in their fate. In your Iraq, Ba'athist holdouts, Foreign Jihadis, Al Qaeda, Iran supplied insurgents, Shiite militias, aren't even in this conflict. You are just as worse as any British imperialist drawing up the maps of future conflict a century ago. Condescending to say the least.
When you are finished wallowing in self hatred, and ignorance of both history and current international conflicts, please do us all a favor and publicly declare your party affiliation as something other than Democrat.
The press should latch onto stuff like this and refuse to let it pass. Tony wants to lie to the American public, call him out on it. They lied about very big things (WMDs) and the press gave them a pass. Draw a line in the sand. The lies have to stop. Small ones, big ones, no matter. A definitive line. Refuse to continue the repetition of a lie.
Without giving him the credence of an echo chamber. How is anything he has to say...newsworthy? His shtick is well defined. Say the most controversial and outlandish thing about once a week. Over the top is preferred. That the media chooses to pour over his statements is more a reflection on the sorry state of the media, than on Limbaugh and his listeners.
This stem cell issue should not be characterized in the media as a battle between Fox and Limbaugh. Fox has credence to step up to this plate. Rush does not and has invited himself to this forum. This is flat out disinformation that leads to an ever increasing ignorant public. This is about stem cell research! Not Rush Limbaugh.
After an "exhaustive" search of "more than 100" Jennifer Medina articles at the New York Times, It should be noted that Jennifer uses the term "Lieberman" more than twice as often as the term "Lamont." 47(Liberman) to 23(Lamont).
Jennifer, as of late, has been trying to distance herself from the former Democrat. Polls suggest that using the term "Lieberman" in an article title, could come back to hurt Jennifer after the mid term elections.
Dogs, leather leashes, hand cuffs, naked pyramids...the Republican party just got a whole lot sexier.
