Original article: Hillary without tears

Ramble on

On Clinton: Why disparage Machiavelli?

"Our military presence everywhere is provocative and, in the long run, counterproductive."

Not if you understand the imperial doctrine of military footprint that dominates our foreign policy for the last 50 years. We want to establish bases in every country of the world and we want to leave them there permanently. We use them to redefine and expand our actual borders. China doesn't have to invade Florida for us to rally a national defense, they simply have to cross the 38th parallel. The base's purpose is to secure "American interests" overseas which in turn secures our economic might internationally. If you look at the Iraq adventure from that perspective, you will see we have achieved our goals there. The insurgency was necessary, because if peace and democracy immediately broke out, we'd have been asked to leave 3 months after the invasion. Ever wonder why we didn't secure the armories when we first invaded? Kinda hard to have an insurgency with no weapons. Ever wonder why our supposed enemy in Iraq is always shifting? First the Republican Guard, then the Sunni insurgents, then the Mahdi army, then Al Qaida, now..? Can you imagine the luck of invading and occupying a country with 5 disparate unorganized factions all vying for power? A colonialist's wet dream. Better keep the garrisons, for security sake.

Once you look at our foreign policy from the 'military footprint' view, and the 'American interests' view...it all makes a lot of sense. I'm not saying I agree with our methods, I am just suggesting that things are not as counter productive to the will of those in charge, as one would think.

Lastly, I gotta a whole lotta love for your contrary writings Camille. If you don't challenge the status quo of thought around here... the song remains the same. Keep up the good work. Being disliked by so many is proof of your worth.

Reagan was a douchebag

Iran Contra Scandal.

Dirty wars all over the world particularly Central America.

Takes credit for the fall of the Soviet Union, but actually just happened to be on watch when an economy finally collapsed after decades of decline.

Very militant, very fascist, very anti-free speech.

You can thank Reagan for every mentally ill person currently wandering the streets homeless and urinating on your doorstep.

America wasn't prosperous under Reagan. His economic policies are largely repudiated. Reaganomics was the beginning of this continuing land grab of wealth and resources by the wealthiest. "What's good for business and the rich is good for the country." Right.

Last years as president Alzheimer's patient, but we didn't need to know that.

Was the dumbest president, present one included, the nation has ever had.

The race isn't over for other candidates

Iowa and New Hampshire has spoken! Are choice is between Obama and Clinton! Salon follows the rest of the main stream media in the perpetration of this fraud.

I should also note that the 'Clinton-Obama contest gets ugly' approach is the exact same on the CNN political front page as well as the rest of the main stream media. If Salon doesn't distinguish itself from the main stream media in its coverage of this election, why should we get our news here? CNN.com does a much better job of delivering fraudulent news.

Salon.com echos press releases by campaigns to its readership

Political campaigns know that the media is lazy. They exploit this obvious weakness by hand delivering the news. The media covers its ass by claiming the news is the "debate" over the news or a "debate" over the way the news was released in the first place. This is so pervasive, that even corporate independent news sources like Salon, fall into this trap.

This "story" would not be an issue with the public, if the media (including Salon) were not manipulated into repeating the "story" over and over.

Your political coverage is poor and mimics the problems of the main stream media.

We also coddle the "terrorists" who hate us.

Let's not forget that Al Qaeda is our invention. Our CIA armed and trained the Mujahadeen and Osama Bin Laden in their war against Afghanistan. At bigger camps than this one in Florida. We also armed and trained the Baathists who overthrew "elected" government of Iraq and we bailed Saddam Hussein out of jail to put him in power in Iraq. We are also comfortable supporting terrorists all over central America. Sometimes we even perpetrate terror ourselves..."Shock and Awe," My Lai, Waco etc...
