For those in this forum who think a person can't be molested at 21, understand that he was homeless (He finds himself on the street at 21 living in a car at a junkyard because his alcoholic dad beats him at home), he relied on these people in positions of authority for food and shelter, and also had a built in "trust" of the Church. Your reasoning that he is old enough to make his own decisions is very flawed. Our own justice system sees this as molestation. He sued the Church and won and the offending priest was fired. Like many abuse victims he became an abuser. He stated he wanted desperately to prove to himself and others that he was not a homosexual. He is a convicted rapist and may also be a convicted murderer. He has spent time in prison and mental institutions. He stands in a political campaign office with a fake bomb because he is at his lowest and is seeking help. Help which he was denied because he didn't have money.
This is a direct indictment of our society. Why does anyone have to be "homeless." Can't we find a way to at least house people? Why are priests exempt from our laws? Only a handful of these abusers were ever sent to jail. Once we learn that one of our citizens is a victim of abuse, isn't it our responsibility as a society to follow up and make sure this person gets treatment? We treat our wounded soldiers. Is it o.k. to just hand the person a check and say "sorry about that?" Where is the follow up on his parole? We put this guy in prison as a rapist, then release him on society with very little follow up. What have we done for his victims? Where are the mental health services for people? For free. Not these $1000 a week places that people can check themselves into for rehab. Why do we think a person with mental health disorders has thousands of dollars to pay for health services? Should we expect the disturbed to have insurance?
A rapist. A convict. A bomb threat. A filer of lawsuits. A homeless guy. Crazy. It all adds up to creep. Our tendency is get a warm feeling knowing that the locals and the feds are working up charges that should keep this guy in prison for many years. It is easy to help cuddly orphans or doe eyed cancer kids who are obviously deserving of our attention, it is noble to help those we might despise. We need to stand up for those who can not stand for themselves.
The chain of our society is only as strong as our weakest link.
"Our fighter jets expressed some seriously aggressive diplomacy when they strafed an Afghani village today cutting women and children in half with negotiating 50 caliber bullets. The other side's diplomats chose to forgo the usual exchange of gifts and instead returned the overture with a tactful protocol of small arms fire, and statesmanlike rocket propelled grenades."
John Rockefeller admits during a television interview today that he was made aware of the information on Iran 3 months ago as well as his Republican vice chairman Christopher Bond. This is a classic example of the continued failure of congressional oversight. If these men knew of this report, why were they completely silent about the findings. It is also apparent that only these men were privy to this information and the other members of the committee were not in that loop. This is the continuation of the policy of the separation of information and the over classification of information. All the members of the committee should know what others know, and the biggest complaint pre-democrat take over was the limited information being provided to certain members of the committee. Questions should be asked as to why the oversight committee is not providing any oversight.
I tried to create a web business in this space and found a conspiracy of circumstances aligned to benefit some (big) businesses and to be detrimental to small start up businesses. Netflix has a deal with the motion picture industry (collusion, monopoly, price fixing etc...) that allows them to revenue share with the industry. They don't pay market price for the DVDs they send to consumers. They pay anything for the DVDs. The DVDs are provided to them free by the industry. That is why they don't care if they get beat up in the mail. They have been given a sweetheart deal with the post office. They do not pay full rate for their mailer, and are given special handling privileges by the post office. My attempts to start a similar but much smaller business resulted in a 75% broken disc rate, and also higher mailing fees per unit. When I tried to get the same handling and shipping cost deal as Netflix I was basically treated as a standard customer and told to pay standard rates and to improve the break rate by shipping in expensive bubble wrap packages. If you have millions in capital, can lobby the postal service (a public service), and can make back room deals with the entertainment industry...you can have a disc through the mail business. Anyone else, forget it. These types of business collusions stymie the ideas of a free and fair market and result in big businesses controlling a market space from the get go. Netflix is not an example of tiny company making it big, they had millions in capital and friendly deals with the industry from the beginning. Judging from their revenue sharing deals with the industry, you could say they are nothing more than a for profit marketing and distribution arm of the industry itself. Look who is in this space: Netflix, Blockbuster, and Walmart.
