Thanks for this - I vomited all over my desk.

Yes, they really are that dumb. And quite likely insane, too.

Original article: Where is the outrage?

You're giving them too much credit.

"The Republican Party used to specialize in gimlet-eyed, steel-rim, crepe-soled common sense"

Really? When was that.....1953?

Wednesday, September 24, 2008 01:25 PM

Of course they don't want a debate.

They have NOTHING to say! Nothing to say that can't easily be cribbed from a sheet of talking points, that is.

If any of us had been as unprepared as McCain/Palin, we wouldn't have even passed our Introductory Public Speaking courses in college.

My question is, are the moderators going to be allowed to ask REAL questions in these debates, or are they going to be forced to stick with what the two idiots, McCain and Palin, *think* they can answer? My guess is it'll be the latter, unfortunately.

Wednesday, September 24, 2008 01:33 PM

What I really can't wait to see....

..is the vapid, empty shell, I-can-read-talking-points-in-my-sneering-annoying-mousey-voice Sarah Palin get up behind a podium and attempt to answer a real question.

Another reason for not voting Republican, as if we needed another one.

Did we honestly need yet another reason for not voting McCain/Palin? I can't take it anymore, just the mere sight of this woman makes me want to vomit.

If these two win,

I truly believe that I will begin to feel nostalgia for Bush/Cheney. If you gave me the choice only between these two numbnuts, and Bush/Cheney......I would pick Bush/Cheney, and I'm not even joking.

Come on ladies...

I like the guy. I thought he was a good choice for Obama. But how can you be surprised at his performance? This guy has debating policy in the Senate and grilling Supreme Court justices for decades. Memo to the world, regardless of his prior gaffes, Biden is a very smart guy, and would make a great VP for Obama. He's not content to sit back there and be a yes-man.

If he *couldn't* deflect the likes of Sarah Palin, and run rhetorical circles around her, I'd be very worried.

Agree entirely.

"I urge thoughtful liberals to look beyond the more bizarre thoughts of Sarah Palin's pastors. There is abundant material closer to home to give concern (e.g. her tacit support of the Alaskan separatist movement"

Oh I definitely agree with that. It isn't too difficult to find reasons not to vote for her other than the lunatic fringe with whom she associates.

Just what we need,

another anti-environment, anti-science president. I can't imagine anyone with even half a brain voting for this man and his sidekick.

Tuesday, October 7, 2008 12:40 PM

This is yet another reason, in this case a very substantive reason...

....to vote for Obama. If the Supreme Court is allowed to stay on this path, it will be packed with right-wing demagogues until I die, and I'm only 34.

Wednesday, October 8, 2008 12:41 PM

Donna, you took the words right out of my mouth.

"I'm paying my mortgage every month, AND my 2nd mortgage, on a home that is worth (current market) considerably less than it's mortgaged for. Why don't *I* get an opportunity to rework my mortgages at the devalued current price? Because I didn't try for the quick fix of an ARM that I planned to refinance before the adjustment hit, but instead took the safe/steady course of fixed rates? I feel like I'm being punished for having thought it through before getting these loans."

Exactly. Why should I get punished for having made a more rational, fiscally responsible home purchasing decision, while the most irresponsible debt junkies get a miracle shot in the arm? That incenses me so much, I'd like to punch John McCain in the face for even suggesting it. No. That can't be the way we get out of this mess. There needs to be SOME consequence for making horrible, greedy decisions, or else sometime, we will be right back where we are today, I guarantee it.

We do need....

....infrastructure upgrades/repairs. And if this keeps up, a lot of people are going to be out of work. Would seem to be a perfect match.

Only problem is, the people most likely to lose their jobs probably won't be skilled physical laborers. We may not be able to pull a TVA/WPA/CCC out of a hat this time. You can't just put a bunch of paper pushers in a building together and let them have at it.

Friday, October 10, 2008 08:59 PM

Hollow.

He's just as disrespectful as his supporters. This is a ploy promulgated by his handlers, designed to make him look more even-tempered.

We are going to see every dirty trick in the Republican playbook from here until Election Day. Get used to it.

Friday, October 17, 2008 03:14 PM

The only reason...

.....Scalia, Thomas, Roberts and Alito didn't dissent is because it would have looked really bad for them. They see the writing on the wall. But, if you need yet another reason to vote for Obama, envision a Supreme Court packed with right-wing demagogues like the ones I listed.

Original article: It's Trig time!

Thanks, Salon.

For conjuring a thought of Sarah Palin breast-feeding. I've suddenly become nauseous.

Monday, October 20, 2008 06:24 PM

Now come on Joe. You know better.

That would be way too easy, and would make way too much sense.

Monday, October 20, 2008 06:29 PM

We could also....

....MAKE money by de-criminalizing drugs. Legalize them, regulate the hell out of them and tax the hell out of them. Would save a ton of money on pointless "enforcement" of victimless crimes.

Wednesday, October 22, 2008 10:16 AM

San Francisco is a great city.

I wish this citizen's arrest had been successful :)

Wednesday, October 22, 2008 10:25 AM

Wow, they really are

....playing up this whole "Real American" angle. Not that this is any different from the crap from the Bush supporters 4 and 8 years ago.

Jesus H., these people have their eyes so firmly focused on the rearview mirror, it's incredible. The irony is that THEY are the ones who have no clue what real patriotism is. Real patriots don't sit around, cloak themselves in the flag and God, and do whatever their dear leader tells them to.

That's not patriotism, you morons, that's fascism.

Original article: Rrrowr!

Look....

....the real reason why she SHOULD drive any self-respecting feminist crazy, in my opinion, is because she's unqualified and stupid. We won't even get into the fact that she doesn't share the views of most women who would call themselves feminists.
