Blah Blah!

The Execs/CEOs will find a way to be compensated. There always seems to be loopholes. Will there be brain drain or no incentives for good performance? Well, first if these are the people that were there when all this bad business was being conducted, there must not be too much brain to drain and why should they be rewarded for what appears to be bad performance!!??

If those businesses weren't bailed out, they'd be in the unemployment lines and selling their homes too!! If they were just responsible for their own businesses, it would be one thing but what those big mammoth businesses do affects us all, as we have seen, and will continue to experience until they clean up the way they do business. Big business has to be responsible not only to their Boards of Directors and Sharesholders but to the community and society, and if they are too big to fail and the public has to support them through tax dollars that the taxpayer will be repaying for many decades, then yes, the public should have something to say about it!

Original article: How sorry is Joe Wilson?

Rude and Classless

Republicans, particularly southern white Republicans, are so upset that the Democrats are in control and worse yet ... a Black Democratic Pres., they can't hold back their distain and deep suppressed feelings any longer. I don't think Wilson is remorseful - this has been great publicity for him. Jimmy Carter is absolutely right! His feelings were boiling and erupted revealing his true self. He most likely didn't say all that was in his small brain at that moment.

But what has America become anyway? There is no respect for authority, protocol or tradition today. Mediocrity is acceptable and all that we expect if anything. It is pervasive throughout our modern culture from our families to even our highest institutions and offices. And it is an issue and problem that erodes a society. Simple discipline, guidelines, rules and standards are needed in a civil society. Discipline is particularly important for our leaders to exercise. It is what was wrong with Wall Street, with our families, education system, etc. This was not a debate forum or a speech by just anyone. It was the Pres. of United States. Show some respect if not for the person - for the office. Wilson showed a lack of discipline, of judgment, of respect and was simply a poor example of the character of our leadership -- but perhaps a good example of what is wrong with America.

Wingnuts!

About wingnuts ..... have you seen the UTube video going around with the detailed analysis or whatever whereby Jesus names the antichrist in the Bible, which of course concludes that Jesus said the antichrist's name would be Obama!! Go figure! If the first Black Pres. was George ... they'd interpret it to be George!

By George!

Too Liberal for the GOP

I'm from PA and the Republican Party wanted him out. That didn't necessarily mean that PA wanted him out. The Party turned their backs on him and orchestrated a plan to put another ultra conservative in. There is no room - no tolerance for a moderate in the Republican party today. They're up to their usual dirty tricks even against their own, this new group of back-stabbing evil people controlling the party. He had to do this to save his job and to save America from having another extremist conservative in office!! This man is a survivor! Literally, in his life and job! Yes, he generally would vote w/ his party but he has voted w/ his convictions as well. A rare thing in politics today.

BS

I don't believe we - the taxpayers and the government - are helpless in this situation. The taxpayers own 80% of the company. We should be able to enforce something! We can decide not to give them any more money, let them fail and then see if they can pay bonuses!! That is BS that they can't change or renegotiate contracts. What kind of management doesn't negotiate contracts in the first place that have some standard or measure of performance or company profitability built into them. Who agrees to give bonuses like blank checks? If nothing else, lenders would place limits on company bonuses or executive compensation structures if the company isn't profitable or it negatively affects the companies in some way. I think these excuses are pure BS!! Other executives of other companies are giving up bonuses, increases, etc., union workers have made concessions and changed contracts! These people just don't care! They are snubbing their noses and doing business as usual, which is what obviously got them into this situation to begin with!! I say it is time to let them file bankruptcy, split up their assets and reorganize! Let them stand in the unemployment lines w/ everyone else!
