People here seem to be complaining about "Texas Hold 'Em." There are several types of HE - limit, pot limit, and no limit are the most popular. If you don't like NL, then play L or PL, and don't whine about people who like to play NL, ok?
To those who complain about the lack of strategy involved in NLHE, they must not have played, or played very little. The real secret of NLHE is that it is mostly a people game, and only secondarily a card game. It seems to me that people who complain about others going All In just can't get a read on the other players, and then assume they are [always] just gambling. Of course, the better players are harder to get a read on, but they are relatively far and few between. There is definitely math involved, and I have degrees in Math and Comp Sci from MIT and Stanford, but I find these skills are secondary to being able to correctly read another player. If you can't take NLHE, understand it's probably because you can't read other players and this is why you can't hack it. Don't harsh on the game just because you aren't good at it.
I don't know what you're smokin', but Ms. Andrews not hot. Sorry, but that's the truth. As mentioned previously, Farhad, you need to get out a little more if you think she's "hot."
I think it would be great to have college football (and other sports too, I suppose) set up in tiers, which teams can move in and out of, much like English (and other leagues) soccer. You have your top-flight tier, which play each other for the top-flight title. 2nd tier goes for 2nd tier title, and so on. Each tier has 20-30 teams, or whatever. Maybe we have regional leagues to make up for the many schools. Bottom 2 teams in each tier get sent down to the next tier; top 2 teams get bumped up to the next tier. This all but assures that teams similar abilities will play each other, and there won't be any gimmes. Makes things interesting with relegation and promotion too. Let's get the ball rolling on this one!
Simpson should sue the AP and every other news organization's butts for libel. Have you seen anything so preposterous, then the press has the nerve to not even couch it in any sort of "alleged" language?
The MSM has fallen prey to the fear gripping the nimwits in Boston, especially after the ATHF movie promotion. A dozen other cities figured out the ad campaign - what is in Boston's water that they're so idiotic?
I fear the republic is doomed when I read of event like this.
As Patrick says, we definitely need to keep asking questions. Do not be bullied into submission by egocentric, testosterone-laden TSA employees. Just remember to be respectful and polite - don't stoop to their level of anger and theatrics. We can see from this column that this gets (positive) results.
As the bumper sticker says, ignore your rights, and they will go away!
Who woulda thunk it from such a nice lefty web mag?
As others have mentioned, where the hell is Bill in the composite? I am no great fan of Hillary, but come on. Show you are truly not gender-biased and put Bill's pic in. You have to leave out two, and his is one of them? Act like it's 2007, not 1907 in reverse.
You should stop calling your parents. Send them birthday cards, Christmas cards, nice letters telling them how you're doing, but you should stop calling them, because they appear to be so manipulative. If they call you, feel free to talk, but do not allow them to manipulate. Be straightforward, direct and calm about what is going on in the call, say that you can't have a conversation like that and hang up if you must. Communication by letter will be sufficient for your obligations. If they want to talk, they will call, but do it on your terms. They need to start acting like adults, and it will be painful to help them do so, but you need to do it and stop phoning them.
The phrase is, The gig is up. Or are they trying to be ironic? If so—not a great job.
This is just a rehash of New Order's "Round and Round" video - pretty girls staring into the camera, acting mildly coy/shy. Nothing to see here—move along. Ecclesiastes 1:9.
You also mention the ads as a source of revenue. I am *so* glad ad-blocking software has yet to be seriously challenged. I don't know what I'd do if Adblock or PithHelment stopped working. Sorry, Bud...
Why the bleeping of "the naughty word?" I thought the whole point was to show that this was not a bad word, at least not in this context. This is not prime-time broadcast TV, people.
Frankly, it does make me roll my eyes at the rhetoric used on Obama's church's website. Does it really need to be so strident and quite easily confused as anti-white? I'm as big an Obama supporter as the next guy, but the wording of their About Us message makes me want to bang my head against the wall. This country still has problems with racism - do they really need more ammo (which of course will be used against him)?
Under what law was the FBI (or whomever) allowed to find "irregularities" in Spitzer's bank account(s)? Don't you have to be suspected of wrongdoing before your bank activities can be monitored?
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
