What smear machine?

So basically Obama is facing a tag team of McCain and Clinton. This should shut down Clinton's claim that Obama can't withstand the "vast right wing conspiracy".

BTW, what is the Obama media bias exactly? I can't seem to turn on CNN these day without seeing Paul Begala and James Carville.

And they still instist on measuring the race with superdelegates included which gave the impression that she was more than a hundred delegates ahead before any in Iowa cast their first vote.

If they were really biased towards him they would probably do things like point out that Clinton has yet to have a night where she won more pledged delegates than Obama. They would also highlight that there are still about 35 pledged delegates to be assigned from last Saturday and Tuesday, the vast majority of which are from states that Obama won by wide margins.

Florida and Michigan: Have Real Contests!

Look you two, you made your point. You got your early primaries even though you knew your delegates would be stripped. Now do the rest of the country a favor and hold real contests where all the candidates campaign and are on the ballot.

What does Sen Clinton fear about having real contests? If she is so sure of her support in those states, she should have a problem with the voters in those two states meeting Sen Obama.

On another note: The FMLA and ADA? Really? What an insult to the elected officals that actual did the work to create those bills and get them passed. To steal from her, It took a legislature and a president to get those thing done, not a first lady (of Arkansas).

How much of Hillary's experience is really just her experience of being married to Bill Clinton? If intimacy with a former President counts as political experience, shouldn't Monica Lewinsky be at least a Mayor of a metropolitan city? Should Gennifer Flowers be in the House of Representatives?

Notorious Wes

Obama did vote for the amendment to strip the bill of immunity for telecoms. Sen McCain voted nay. I guess the second amendment is the only amendment McCain believes in.

Part of the nutty, arcane process that is the Senate not to mention the time contraints of running a national campaign (just ask Sen Clinton or Sen McCain).

By the way things are measured in the Senate, Sen Obama did more to hold the telecoms accountable with his vote. It isn't even clear if Sen Clinton made her stance know.

Personally, I don't think Hillary should drop out. Having two highly visable Democrats fire up people in every state while focusing the debate on things we care about is one of those good problems. Yeah, I really like the idea of either candidate having a ground operation already set up in Montana before going in the general election campaign. This is also why I think Michigan and Florida should have real contests.

I do, however, think the rest of the process favors Obama. The more people get to see him the more they like him. I've yet to see a poll taken three weeks before a primary that had Obama performing better compared to the actual outcome.

Re: Hillary's up in Ohio and Pennsylvania

Too bad for her campaign that the primaries in those states weren't on Feb 9-12.

At least the DNC is keeping its eye on the prize by going after McCain

Thank goodness Howard Dean is the chair. Hard to believe there was resistance to him getting it.

Not over, but...

she's had a good amount of positive "MSM" coverage. Last I checked, CNN Political Ticker had posts in the 840 Sen Clinton category compared to 725 for Sen Obama.

I seem to recall not too long ago that Bill Clinton was getting more coverage in this primary season than some leading republican candidates.

I don't think the problem with the media is that it is biased politically, I think the problem is that it is lazy and sensationlistic.

For every poll they are not reporting in Hillary's favor they are also no reporting Barack's fairly definative response to her recent attacks:

http://factcheck.barackobama.com/factcheck/2008/02/14/response_to_clintons_random_ti.php

Wouldn't a non-lazy, Obama biased media point out that:

-Clinton Cosponsored, Supported Obama’s Bill on Reporting Requirements For Nuclear Plants

-Clinton Has Accepted Thousands In Contributions From NRG Energy Inc

-David Crane, The President And CEO Of NRG Energy, A Nuclear Power Company, Is a Maxed-Out Contributor And Bundler For Clinton's Campaign.

-Obama And Durbin Demanded Immediate Assistance For Displaced Maytag Workers, Department Of Labor Met Their Demands.

-Robert Reich said Obama's health plan would cover more people.

-Obama has an on record support of green collar jobs and made his proposal a month before Clinton

You think a Pro-Obama MSM would point that out rather than just regurgitate the Clinton campaign's press releases. But that is how they do it, pretty much for all parties involved.

Most cable news coverage is:

-Clip of candidate making speech or political ad

-Round table of talking heads pontificating about the clip

-Cut to an analyist in front of a screen recapping the horse race

-Commerical break

-Clip of candidate making speech or political ad

and repeat

The MSM's two biases are against an informed public and for advertising dollars.

So do we put stock into polls or not?

They haven't been very predictive so far.

Obama's personal wealth?

I don't know. Let's compare his and Clinton's tax returns.

Anyone wanting the scoop on the nuclear smear:

http://factcheck.barackobama.com/factcheck/2008/02/14/response_to_clintons_random_ti.php

I especially like how Hillary has received $80,000 from the nuclear lobby, $4600 from the CEO of NRG energy, and $5 million that went to "The Clinton Global Initative". Five million, five million...where have I heard that number before? It was pretty recent. Something about a loan?

But hey, I'll let you Barack Bashers read the whole thing. After all, I know you're all about "Substance" and wouldn't just parrot empty rhetoric you heard from a speech an "empty suit" gave.
