shock jock? are you kidding me/

Has anyone getting all indignant listened to Imus recently? or seen him? He is old and boring! Not shoking! He sits there and barely enunciates and rambles like your grandfather in the alzheimer's ward. He is running down slowly out of steam and I'm so glad he's gone because it was depressing to watch him try to make it through a show and to try to act shocking. He's dried up.

Imus fans are sending hate mail

wow, all 3 of them?

Friday, April 13, 2007 01:09 PM

actually

most cases of embezzlement are NOT prosecuted BECAUSE the organization choses NOT to file charges (geneerally because they don't want the negative PR). I worked at one such place. We caught the guy and knew the PR would affect our doncations, so we fired the guy and closed the subject. YEs, it was our choice, not the prosecutor's. Ben Dover gets off on calling people names, but I don't. But I do relate FACTS, not insults.

his ratings were LOW and going down

his ratings were LOW and going down, down down.

bad ratings

I mean , who wants to watch an old man sleep?

relax

I was thinking the opposite: you're over thinking this. I am NOt a gun owner and think the right to own guns in the constitution was intended for armies, but, since it IS legal to own guns, I grant the guy that right even if it isn't my cup of tea.

You're being appologetic for soemthing that is legal. Don't. Dont fall into the temptation to do only that which is considered socially acceptable in your crowd. Do what want, be your own man.

They found his guns, which were unloaded and hidden really, really well. They used those guns to hurt people

if you do buy a gun, LOCK it in a gun safe, please.

ETENGLISH UNDERSTANDS WHAT'S really going on here

this isn't about respect for stillborn babies

This kind of initiative is intended to open the door to issuing death certificates for all human fetuses terminated early. A Tennessee state legislative representative has proposed that all aborted fetuses/embryos be issued death certificates as well. It's clear where that is leading: directly to the public's knowing which women have terminated pregnancies. Under the guise of "respect" for the babies, this kind of thing could potentially be aimed at identifying, shaming, and eventually possibly criminalizing all women whose pregnancies do not end in a live birth.

demographics

official birth certificates for stillborn babies would really confuse our demographic analyses. It would imply there's a huge deathrate, which is different from the stillborn rate. For statistical and health analysis purposes, births, stillborns, and infant deaths should be catagorized differently.

So, do yourself a favor and stop by a gun shop. it'll be based on clear and rational logic instead of fear and ignorance.

and then try some heroin to make sure that's really bad too.

One CAN be rationally against guns without first shooting a gun. It is ignorant, however, to think all people who disagree with you are ignorant.

"there were no eyes on the street"

you've obviously never been to tech. It's a walking campus. Some people may drive from off-campus apts. to school, but once there, everyone walks between classes.

It's that Jane Adams thing

You mean Jane Jacobs

the fact is

that at yesterday's servive, when President Steger came to the podium, he got a full and enthusiastic standing ovation, proving that the student body and staff think he's done a great job. They do not think he waited too long, they know that it would take 2 hours to contact 30,000 people. It is only the media and basement-dwelling cranks who are throwing blame around.

repeat: at yesterday's servive, when President Steger came to the podium, he got a full and enthusiastic standing ovation

The instructor who was giving him private instruction had worked out a special signal with an assistant so the assistant would know when to call the police.

If an instructor fears a student THAT much, s/he should NOT have to teach him. We should be able to kick the student out of that college permanently if he won't act appropriately in class. It's got nothing to do with guns.

not mutually exclusive

Don't make the mistake of thinking the 2 lifestyles you explore are mutually exclusive. It IS possible to change the world AND marry a good woman. It is possible to inspire people AND be a good father.

I think you're scorning those 'boring' things like monogamy, thinking they're the one thing keeping you from greatness. Well, you're just looking for a scapegoat. Those things are not holding you from greatness: only you are.

Go do what you love, be great at it, AND be a good husband and a good father. It's all about the holistic you. The separate parts of your life are not compartamentalized, they all work together seamlessly as YOU. Go be YOU.

impossible to "close down" a 2,000-acre campus

bebe from new york: please tell us how many "entrances" there are to the Va. Tech campus, vehicular and pedestrian. Obviously you don't know or realize it's a sprawling 2,000 acre campus with hundreds of possible routes in. It isn't like a one-building high school with 5 doors to walk around a lock in 15 minutes. It's like a small town with a hundred buildings, a thousand doors. It would be impossible to "lock down" the campus, you can't just pull up the drawbridge. If you'd ever been to Tech you'd know that.

Third, Joe sent us a bill for the trip

There is something very scare about that fact, that he sent you a bill for the trip. Either he's an actual psychopath, or it's some preemptive legal move...either way I'd write up a description and take it and that bill to an attorney. I hate to start with the attorney stuff, but that bill is too weird...

Will people with schizoaffective disorder be lumped in with psychotic murderers?

Did you threaten anyone? If not, relax. If so, then, YES, you need to be removed from society and medicated until you are no longer a threat to others.

Tuesday, April 24, 2007 07:28 AM

should I explain more?

It's not that I blame mentally ill people, I know they were born with this condition and it is not thier fault. But I must insist they get help. I must insist that merely appologizing for STALKING women is not enough. If you can't control your compulsion to stalk women, you must be stopped. Period. Stalking is illegal and deadly and I offer no exceptions for people who "can't help it." If you can't help harming people, society must protect them and take the medical and legal steps necessary to stop the lawbreaking and protect society.
