  • Poo-Flinging Championship Series

I love the Monkey-Poo-Flinging solution, but that brings up another point.

Obviously, with all that poo flying around the room, you're going to need someone to determine which logos have more poo on them. What if the poo splatters equidistant between two logos? You would need some sort of a system, either a computer or a poll or something, to determine which logos have the most poo on them. Perhaps forensic specialists could vote on it?

During the poo flinging, ESPN could interview "experts" to analyze every crusty stain and dribble on the wall. Think of the excitment! Perhaps the Poo-Flinging Championship Series will replace college football altogether. Let's do it! Where can I get a PFCS t-shirt?

  • Hoax Letter

As a fan of Snopes (see link in signature), I tend to take the attitude that if there's a shadow of a doubt about a document's authenticity, it's probably a hoax. Not that that will stop people from passing it off as authentic. People really want to believe in these kinds of things.

Is Bill Savage the brother of Dan Savage, the sex advice columnist? (I know he has a brother who's a professor of English at Northwestern.) And now he's being quoted in King Kaufman? Small world.

  • Savage and Sedaris

Yes, Bill is Dan's brother. And since I once interviewed Dan, they may be the first set of siblings I've ever interviewed about different subjects. Have to think about that. Someday.

Your next goal should be to get interviews with David Sedaris, and his brother Paul, in two different columns. Then you will have covered two of My Favorite Writers Who Happen to be Gay, and their brothers.

  • Listen to the Intervention

[Read the article: I left an abusive marriage, and now I'm in love with a thief]

LW, from your "ruckus" comment, I gather that you're not real familiar with the letters section of Cary's column. This is no ruckus, this is an unprecedented consensus among letter writers. It's an e-intervention.

In years of reading this column, I've never seen so much agreement in 20 pages of letters in a SYA column. That alone should make you take notice. Based on your letter and your three (quite defensive) responses, I'm trying to figure out some sort of scenario in which your new relationship is not as dangerous as you make it out to be. I'm really having trouble. Each new response from you raises more red flags, such as 1.) your admission that acceptable men at your age are hard to find, 2.) your constant refrain of, "Of course that's true, but it doesn't apply to me" and 3.) your latest response, which ignores most points raised here and focuses on MacK, one of the few responders who attempts to see some redemption in your new man.

If you've ever been interested in real advice, and not just hollow affirmations, I would pay attention to this intervention. Listen to the wisdom of the crowd.

  • I'll go there, as well

...but these two teams neighbors could spend the next few years....

Should either be "teams" or "neighbors," or possibly "team-neighbors." And the rest of that sentence should read, "...frustrating us with the obvious unfulfilled sexual tension between them."

See what I just did there? You can't get this kind of editing anywhere...

  • Linguistic Clarification?

[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]

The Green Bay Packers routed the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots stayed undefeated by slugging out a win over the tough Jacksonville Jaguars Saturday. Natch...

Could someone please explain to me what natch means? I've seen it written many times recently and I have no idea what it's supposed to indicate. I've never heard it spoken. Thanks!

As a Colts fan, I don't blame their loss on the offensive mishaps. Their defense completely lost that game. They absolutely could not stop the Chargers from scoring, and no team with such porous defense deserves to play in the championship.
