Hillary Would Make a Very Pleasant Butcher at Walmart
[Read the article: "She's not as bad as you think"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Sure she would.
She could tenderize the meat by hitting it with a mallet. She could sharpen knives for herself and for the other butchers in the meat department. She could introduce new colors for the butchers' outfits.
Her tools of the trade, mallet, sharp knife, bright outfit, and the smile would make her a valuable Associate at Walmart.
But she will never be my President.

Robert Reich, Secretary of Labor 1993-1997, Chooses Obama.
[Read the article: Will Obama's debate stumble hurt him?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]On Friday, April 18, Professor Reich (UC Berkeley) formally endorsed Barack Obama. He knows the Clintons very well.
In seven major policy areas Mr. Reich prefers Senator Obama. These are:
1. Obama's plans for reforming Social Security have a better chance of succeeding.
2. Likewise his plans for reforming health care have a better chance of succeeding.
3. His approaches to the housing crisis are sounder than hers.
4. So too his approaches to the failures of our financial markets are sounder than hers.
5. His ideas for improving our public schools and confronting the problems of poverty and inequality are more coherent and compelling.
6. He has put forward the more enlightened foreign policy.
7. He has put forward the more thoughtful plan for controlling global warming.
Mr. Reich's relationship with the Clintons dates back to their law school days at Yale.

Barack Obama Is Born to Lead Us Out of the Wilderness of Incompetence
[Read the article: The haunting of the Democrats]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Mr. O'Hehir worries that Obama will drive away white women. Women are smart. They will easily choose the competent Obama over the hot-tempered and insolvent McCain. Recall that our debt is now $9.4 Trillion and McCain likes Bush's economic policies.
Most folks see Barack Obama as a practicing Christian in style and in substance. He is a good husband to his wife and a good father to his two girls. He says "being a good father is my most important job". Devoted parents know what he means.
Robert Reich, Secretary of Labor 1993-1997, formally endorsed Obama on April 19th. The UC Berkeley Professor preferred Obama over Hillary Clinton in seven policy areas. The seven are:
1. His plans for reforming Social Security have a better chance of succeeding.
2. His plans for reforming health care also have a better chance for success.
3. His approaches to the housing crisis are sounder than hers.
4. His approaches to the failures of our financial markets are sounder.
5. His ideas for improving our public schools and confronting the problems of poverty and inequality are more coherent and compelling.
6. He has put forward the more enlightened foreign policy.
7. He has the more thoughtful plan for controlling global warming.
Mr. Reich knows the Clintons well and their relationship dates back to their law school days at Yale.
Therefore, people of all ages, all church affiliations, all sexes, can see a competent person in Mr. Obama. Barack Obama learns from the past and will not repeat the mistakes of past Democrats running for the presidency.
The Iraq War has gone on longer than World War II. We are a mostly Christian nation occupying a muslim nation that is located in the very cradle of Islam. Our primary ally, England, has trimmed its force in Iraq drastically. Other allies see our occupation in Iraq as fanning the flames of world-wide terrorism. We have lost our reputation and our treasure in Iraq. We have mistreated and mislead our troops there. McCain will lose big in this election on this issue of endless war.

Public Policy Polling (PPP) Survey of 2338 Likely Voters Says Obama Wins
[Read the article: The epic battle for Pennsylvania]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This polling outfit in Raleigh, North Carolina asked five simple questions. Undecided voters got an extra question as to which way they were leaning (or still undecided). Other questions covered sex, race, age, region of Pennsylvania (5 were coded).
Madden's article offers some polling data (click on poll). Of the nine polls shown only PPP had Obama a winner at 3% (2% was margin of error). The interesting thing was that the largest sample from the eight polls selecting Hillary Clinton was 1200 (from Strategic Vision). The PPP poll is nearly twice that size.
It challenges our thinking to believe that the Zogby poll (n=675) and the Suffock poll (n=600) both have Hillary Clinton a 10% winner while the PPP poll (n=2338) has Obama winning at 3 %. Are all three random polls ?

The Low Road to Victory - attn. Hillary
[Read the article: Obama can't close the deal ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Today the NY Times, a newspaper that endorsed Hillary Clinton, spoke out concerning the negativity of her campaign.
"...they went heavily negative and ended up squandering a good part of what once was a 20-point lead. It is past time for Senator Hillary Clinton to acknowledge that the negativity, for which she is mostly responsible, does nothing but harm to her, her opponent, her party and the 2008 election."
...to bolster Mrs. Clinton's argument that she is the better prepared to be president in a dangerous world, she sent the opposite message on Tuesday morning (April 22) by declaring in an interview with ABC News that if Iran attacked Israel while she were president: ' We would be able to totally obliterate them.' "
In Western thought there is great respect for Reason and Justice. Threats in the public domain by candidates are rare for good reason. We would hope that an Iranian army could be stopped without the "obliterate them" boast. Recall that Hillary Clinton's only time under fire was the Sniper Incident in Bosnia.
We all recall that boast as well.
