Since 95% of the MSM is holding it's nose pretending they're not standing on a big, rotting, dead elephant, Tom has my vote, any one who tells the truth is already at the 99.9th percentile in lucidity compared to the rest of the vacuous, meaningless American MSM.

Poor Anonymous

It's hard to comprehend how anyone could imagine that 'leftists' 'get' something self-satisfying about predicting the major grief coming down the line to America. Sure. Big thrill. Anyone who hasn't noticed the oncoming train wreck for the majority of Americans, and possibly for the rest of the world, is simply too ignorant, too propagandized, and/or too stupid to figure out how to get off the tracks. Keep dreaming. Whatever. But get out of the way of those who've bothered to look up and notice the train.

Original article: Oligarchical decay

bipartisanship...?

How can you be bipartisan with criminals? That's what these guys are, and it's all they are. There isn't a great thought or impulse amongst them (excepting a very few). Their strongest suit is how loud they shout as they pound on their chests and look to their fellow alpha males for admiration. Surely the majority of congress and the Senate have voted to violate the constitution repeatedly; this will be unequivocal when they give the telecoms (and the Bush admin.) immunity. They need to be prosecuted under the rule of law as the Nazis were. The problem is, in my mind, that if the Bush admin. believes they really will be held accountable, they might very well not allow themselves to be voted out, if they haven't already engineered a national disaster to establish martial law already.

Oh great.

an enraged, enlarged Daddy figure. That will help.

Original article: Today's FISA vote

Glenn, you're a true American hero,

no matter what the ultimate results might be.... you've been speaking out at a crucial time for all of us. You helped make this happen, as did many mobilized citizens....you force the lies into the light at a time when powerlessness has become a fact for the majority of American citizens. Thank-you for the inspiration!

Daddy, we need you!

You see we're all missing out on a good Daddy in the house. When you get right down to the core of the far right's motivation, it's all about women running around breeding without the consent of God - the biggest, smartest, Dad - and His earthly representative, Daddy-Rom.

I'm curious

Does anyone know if, after the fact, in a possible country of rule of law, it would be possible to repair these laws the supine congress and senate pass when clearly there is such politically motivated obfuscation of the actually known facts? Or put it this way, when, in any real light shed on these actions it is revealed that collusion in an effort to protect the Bush/Cheney Admin. is what was at stake all along, not to mention the vast liability of the telecoms, is it possible that retroactive immunity to the telecoms could be revoked?

too bad

this guy mixes up his salient points with idiocy about the environment. I guess anybody who throws around that exciting word 'sissies' to make a wave or two and sell his book is probably not going to recognize the very merde he is sitting in. How unfortunate.

Sysprog, and Zack OT

Thanks for all the information, obscure and otherwise, you make a point of posting on GG's letters/site. I just want to let you know I'm sure many of us are grateful. Thanks.

If only the MSM could pull together even a good portion of what both you and GG communicate and put it out there. It would be a very different country with much more engaged citizens.

Wow

Glenn, you are magnificent, simply the one of the best journalists at work in the US today! And that's pretty fine company for the handful who dare. As I've said before, you're the real thing....a great, american hero. May you be safe, and blessed.

Thank-you!!!

The problem is, elephants are worthy, admirable creatures

Is anyone still seriously doubting that the Bush/Cheney administration lied/tricked the American public into war? Nothing - NOTHING - would surprise me anymore from these guys; evidence of anything from genocide to gross incompetence would just fit right in. What's surprising to me is that anyone would be surprised at malfeasance on their part.

I'm with tbt

It's sad that we HAVE to go online to get the news. I wonder how many Americans don't yet quite get how much news they're not getting. This is good....finer points than we get, usually, without going to Juan Cole's site. Thanks!

Jeepers

Is there some kind of irony in 'LB is gay' from parson whoever? Is this article ever sca-reeeee for some folks! I thought it was an interesting article and I enjoyed the brief nostalgia and speculation it contained. Lighten up, you crankies!

donut (hungry snake eating bum?)

if only the world was as simple as you and bush and cheney...'have big stick, make big noise stomping with chest out and scary face on!''kill little enemy, scare big enemies!' 'big stick, big man!' 'Big-Man, (with feeling) Big-Man, Big Man!!!'

great plan.

I guess you could always do that all over again and see what happens all the next times.....

cdevlin, folger etc.

Have other people noticed how the GOP has had to step up it's troll costs to provide more regular inanity?

These guys forget that their self-righteous, indignant whiny tone gives them away..... every single time. (Though, maybe posting this really will help them monitor themselves....oh well)

However I do think suggesting whatsit might be Rove itself was a little too much and will go to it's head.

Just remember America, we're going through a very ugly time and that the repugs will do ANYTHING to keep their power. We can laugh but all of this evidences some pretty sad cynicism on their part; a fair chunk of America really is this stupid.
