    "Dawn of the Dead"

If you ever have warm fuzzies for shopping malls, see this film and reconsider your position...

My favorite part of this film was the mall's 'muzak' playing as the zombies staggered around.

The irony is, when you go to the mall now, much of the late 70's pop / synth music that was popular when DOTD was released is what is playing on the muzak today.

  • i'm less impressed with Obama as time passes

[Read the article: Sunday morning at Saddleback Church]

So now he went to a McChurch and pandered to rich pseudo-Christians. Big whoopie.

The only reason this is news is because Obama is going to shatter the wall between church and state the same way Reagan shattered the wall between propriety and self-interest.

I am sure that Thomas Jefferson, et al, are spinning in their graves.

  • I voted for Webb once...

...but I wouldn't vote for him again. He's a classic Corporate sellout Democrat. Look at his positions on Net Neutrality and FISA.

And yes, without macaca, George Allen would now be on his way to the White House. Allen is such a vacuous, vapid frat boy, he makes the Current Occupant look like genius material.

  • try driving in Denver

If you put on your signal, people here wait for you to enter the lane.

If you are a pedestrian or cyclist, cars give you the right of way.

In general, this is one of the most civilized places to drive that I have ever experienced. In fact, it is more civilized overall that a lot of cities I have visited.

Contrast that with Richmond, Virginia, which was like driving a NASCAR rally every day...

[Read the article: Nets confirm: It's Palin]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

It seems that McCain has only been watching Fox News, and was convinced that the PUMAs would be enough to put him over the top.

Blowback is a bitch, especially when you choke on it. McCain just handed the election to Obama.

  • in short:

[Read the article: Should Obama have picked Hillary?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    No

  • you're kidding, right?

[Read the article: What Sarah Palin means]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

This is an act of cunning and desperation. John McCain has been watching too much MSNBC and Fox.

His decision is more sexist than any of Obama's perceived slights against Hillary Clinton. McCain actually believes that just because Palin is a woman, all of Hillary's followers will jump on his bandwagon.

This confirms what a disaster a McCain presidency would be.

Gov. Palin's nomination is an outrageous insult to her, too. McCain is literally whoring Palin out for votes from misguided women and religious right-wingers.

That Palin accepted McCain as her pimp confirms her naivete and lack of qualification for the job.

It is also an insult to the office of the Presidency of the United States. It shows such a lack of respect for what the Presidency used to represent that I am rendered speechless.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, in this single act, McCain has truly exceeded the combined gall of every destructive act committed by the Bush Administration during the last eight years.

If McCain and Palin are elected in November, the United States of America will never recover.

I suppose we should not be surprised - this is the same guy who dumped his sick wife for a rich younger model.

The "fair and balanced" media will give us their version of "both sides" of this story. The dutiful red-state rednecks will fall in line like good little sheeple, all the way to the slaughter.

Hey, she looks good on a snowmobile. Maybe she can drive the pace car at the NASCAR finals.

    God help us all...

  • @dennisvillasana, Obama does have regognizable experience

[Read the article: McCain's Palin pick is the epitome of tokenism]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

NOBODY is ever qualified to be president when they are elected. Some also fail to attain that qualification afterwards - see the current occupant as reference.

Obama's campaign has organized people from all over the USA to work for his election. It has been run with military precision. His 21st century management skills are very apparent.

Millions of people have already voted for him in primaries. He has also, for the most part, deftly brought together a party that had the potential to be split by negative campaigning.

Palin, however, in her entire career, has received less than 115,000 votes.

I am not happy with a number of Obama's positions (FISA comes immediately to mind) but as someone else said, he's the best we have.

I will vote for him, because the alternative is too destructive. I am certain that he will bring transparency, expertise and integrity to the presidency.

As I noted in comments on Joan Walsh's statement regarding "what Sarah Palin means", McCain made a cynical, pandering attempt to pull votes from women who supported Hillary Clinton.

McCain is pimping Palin for the woman's vote, and the fact that she is naive enough to let him do it shows that neither of them are qualified for executive office.

Do you really believe that if Obama had chosen Hillary Clinton as his running mate, McCain would have chosen Palin? McCain's choice is all about political poker, nothing more.

Voting against Hillary wasn't sexist by default; voting against Palin isn't a vote for misogyny.

There are very valid reasons not to vote for Palin that have nothing to do with her being female.

We are about to find out just how intelligent the American electorate really is. If the red-state rednecks and fundamentalists manage to put McCain in the White House, the shaky wall between church and state will come crashing down and the ensuing "Christian Republic" will make Iran look like Disney World.
