Gee, Bush lie? What a leap that is to make. Unfortunately, I have a feeling when Fitzgerald goes public, the names won't be the ones we'd like to see, like W., Turd Blossum or Cheney. Maybe not even Libby. They'll be names most people have never heard of and the spin will go into high gear about what an overblown witch hunt this has been. Just sayin...
Bush to Bono: Harriet an me were a fixin to clear some brush when we was down in Crawfurd, but we was, heh heh, so into the "war" cassette that was a playin in the Ford that we just sat there in the truck an' she wrote some really pertty prose for me. That's kinda like poetry ya know. Heh heh (eyes blinking wildly).
How does this crazy bitch continue to get air time on the national networks? She's absolutely insane! Shame on NBC for even thinking of booking her.
Heysoos! Just when you think this asshole can't be any more of a low brow dimwit, something like this comes along. I'm sure he's a real gas at international dinners as he entertains the other world leaders by farting la cucaracha. Of course that's probably better than throwing up on them, like his dad did with the Japanese President.
Yeah, just what the Dems need to do right after taking both houses of Congress is criticize Dean for not doing enough. Carville should stop talking long enough to breath so he can get some oxygen to his brain. The last thing the Dems need is to appoint some bible thumping religious nut from tennessee as their new leader.
Dean is pragmatic and aggressive, just the kind of person they need right now. Just because he's not some fucking weasel from the DLC doesn't mean he's not doing all he can do for the party. We don't need people like Ford to drag the party even further to the right. We need to go the other way...big time. Geez, for all the talk about liberal Democrats, it seems like most of the people who were just elected are to the right of Nixon. We don't need more nut cases basing their decisions on mythology, we need more lefties who can think about what's best for the country.
Had enough of Bush League ineptitude?
Vote Democratic in 08!
We may suck, but you can get tax cuts with us!
A vote for Cheney is a vote for a real straight shooter!
Just sayin' - if "No Country" is the best we could come up with this year, the best picture award should have gone to a foreigner too. What a pathetic piece of drivel and mindless violence that movie was, and it shows how low the bar is these days for top shelf movies. Ahhh, but I always forget what a couple geniuses the Coen bros are.
W doesn't mention the fact that a lot, probably most, of the oil that would come from ANWR would be sold to China and other Asian markets due to its location. It would make no noticeable change in oil supplies in the US and would not change the cost of a gallon of gas. What total bullshit - but typical of this idiot who is more interested in big oil getting its grubby hands on ANWR than what can be done to help the citizens of this country.
Funny how he didn't mention the war as being a major part of the economic problems in the US. Are farm subsidies really a bigger drain on the economy than endless war?
A 2004 Energy Department study found that even if drilling started today, to would take 9 years for it to have any economy benefit and 20 years for it to reach peak production. Once it does reach peak production, the benefit would be a 50 cent drop in the price of a barrel of oil, and that benefit would last for 3 years. Seems to me 50 cents a barrel is not going to impact the price of gasoline Xanthro.

War directly impacts the price of gasoline because of the huge amount of oil we're burning through in Iraq and Afganistan.
Jane Harman uses the same argument we always hear about when it comes to infringement of our rights and the fight against terrorists. Unless I'm mistaken though (and it wouldn't be the first time!) this law breaking wasn't done as a result of 9/11, this was started well before 9/11 ever happened. If that is the case, these people need to be called out every time they bring it up so the argument can be steered away from the simple minded "9/11 changed everything" mentality and back to where it belongs, the systematic shredding of the constitution by BushCo.
Having traveled to other Capitols and major cities in Europe and Asia, our National Mall is pathetic in comparison to similar areas in those cities. It could look absolutely awesome with a little updating (and then upkeep), but it looks like a third world mall as it is now. The addition of the WWII memorial looks great, but the overall appearance is generally dirty, the grass is patchy with lots of weeds and bare spots, and the pond is overgrown with algae and looks scummy by mid-summer.
This is what visitors from around the world see first of our country when they visit Washington, and it looks like a dump. Very little planning and no money for maintenance do not add up to a beautiful mall.
$200 million is a drop in the bucket compared to what we're paying for death and destruction. Would the republicans be fighting against using the money for bombs?
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
The accountability imposed by another country for the CIA's kidnapping and torture reveals much about our own.
Fox News' morning show plays to type, talking about whether Muslims in the Army should face "special debriefings"
219 Democrats and one Republican join in favor of the legislation, which passed by a narrow margin
