Moving to the center.

Technically. Politically,

once you take the integral of the entire object, by definition the center of mass,

All you need is two formulas to determine the center of any given political problem:

1. Integral[alfa*f+beta*g]=alfa*Integral[f]+beta*Integral[g]

2. Integral[(x-)*dm]=0 (definition of center of mass )

Where x' for (x-)/RI and y' for (y-)/FISA:

Integral[r^2*dm]=Int[x^2+y^2*dm]=Int[( (x'+)^2+(y'+)^2 )*dm]=

Int[(x'^2+2*x'*+^2+y'^2+2*y'*+^2)*dm]=

Int[(x'^2+y'^2)*dm]+Int[(^2+^2)*dm]=

Int[r'^2*dm]+Int[^2*dm]=

Icm+^2*m

Thus, in terms of the FISA revisions and RI (where RI=retroactive immunity), Obama's 'move to the center' is actually off 2 meters right-of-center and...by an order of dang magnitude.

Also, by these calculations, one can easily demonstrate that the central Iraq war formula (2x+2y=oil) is an axis of evil. (ie. political suicide)

Are these the only choices Glenn!

Well, as the ruler of a small country, I object! :)

The ugly and destructive thing about 'dual loyalty', or patriotic exceptionalism in any sense, is the degree to which that loyalty excludes/denies the legitimate interests of the rest of the world. Clearly, there are more nations than two (or three) in the whole wide world.

As mentioned before, my loyalty, such as it is, does not seek to '...stifle the flame of a sane and intelligent patriotism in men's hearts, nor to abolish the system of national autonomy so essential if the evils of excessive centralization are to be avoided. It does not ignore, nor does it attempt to suppress, the diversity of ethnic origins, of climate, of history, of language and tradition, of thought and habit, that differentiate the peoples and nations of the world. It calls for a wider loyalty ...It insists upon upon the subordination of national impulses and interests to the imperative claims of a unified world. It repudiates excessive centralization on one hand, and disclaims all attempts at uniformity on the other. Its watch-word is unity in diversity ...'

salutations,

bah.

Harold Ford.

Call me.

I'm beginning to think this 'compromise' over FISA is entirely an inside job. Inside the Dem'o party job, that is.

Mr. Ford, a Democrat(ic) insider, was on the Moaning Joe & Mika Show this morning (*MSNBC - the place for comedy, i say.). After Mika buttered him up some, Mr. Ford agreed with Pat Buhcannon that Obama's moving to the 'center' is a good, smart, clever and necessary political move. That's just the nature of politics, they said. (No supporting data, mind you Glenn, but, hey, that's why they get the big bucks i guess.)

On FISA Mr. Ford agreed with Sen. Obama's (new and improved) position and (paraparsed, i don't do dictation), '...if a Gov. official asks/tells you to provide information and break the law that is just A ok.' (*Evidently, Harold is not old enough to remember Nixon.)

Good article Glenn. sh it needed to be said. Them whacked-out Obama freaks need to clean the wax out of their ears, imo.

Obama's latest response (update three).

In a word, disheartening. I actually dislike this more than Obama's initial odd justifications.

[*As usual, I find Glenn's 'point-by-point' analysis hard to argue with - but by all means try as you might. A well-reasoned opinion based upon objective criteria shining like jewels in the night ...you almost always have the issues that are important to me front and 'center' and easy to understand Glenn... which almost always saves me a great deal of time. ty.]

While I too appreciate Obama's seeming willingness to 'at least' debate the issues (over FISA with his most 'loyal' supporters), this 'latest position' seems to preclude any sincere effort on his part in that regard: if it's a 'deal-breaker' that's 'okay' he says. In other words, he is willing to discuss it, but his mind is already made up. bah.

Finally, as Glenn points out, this constant refrain that 'once he is President' he will set things aright is beginning to sound more cryptic than enlightening.

When in the course of human events ... ya'll have a wonderful 4th of July.

~(bold)Cocktailhag(bolder) HI. I was wondering if you would be so kind as to pull this dagger that Barack has so deftly slipped inbetween my back lower ribs. ... and give my gun back. I might need it for squirrels, lobsters or somesuch by the time they get through with us :)

Thank you Cocktailhag.

I feel better already. Cut me to the bone. ...and you're right, the wound is still fresh.

Cosmic irony. I'll tell you some cosmic irony. Reading Glenn's remarks about how it is *impossible* to understand Obama's sudden vanishing act when up pops an 'invasion of the body snatchers' trailer! Scared the pants off me ... and ethics prof.!

Anyway, cocktailhag, I think you are a diamond in the rough up there on park ave.. (btw. just got word that late jul-early-Aug. they are doing a production of ***HAIR*** my fav.o.rite in the Park! FREE! ...a cheap date for sure.)

best to you cocktailhag, and thanks again.
