...This way, since no offense was taken, I won't have to call my lawyer, be bop o, to defend me. His fees ain't chicken feed, you know!

it's on the driving test. (and the lsat too)
Sound Legal Advice bop o.
AT $4 a GAL im gonna start wind-surfing every where I go. Now, $1.38.3 a liter sounds better, but i have a minor in economics. When it hits $4 a Liter I'm gonna surf to Sorento.
I am glad lobster is down. My sister once paid $128 a liter for (quote) 'fresh african lobster tail' (unquote). A bunch of foolishness, if you ask me.
I hope you are faring well bop. You take the cake.

~ William. It was a shock when I first learned human behavior is learned! According to French cultural anthropologist Emile Durkheim '...In so far as he (mankind) belongs to society, the individual transcends himself, both when he thinks and when he acts.'
Bush in Rome.
Says he will study the Supreme Court ruling. He is deeply dissappointed in the ruling. He might obey the ruling, maybe. Before he obeys the ruling, however, legislation should be condsidered to avert this travesty of justice because we are all in danger. All the time.
[Roberts. There's another one Glenn. I watched mutterlingly confounded during his confirmation. A Classic long-tongue orator. They sure can pick em'.]
good day,
bah.
~casual observer. I thought Obama's response (you posted) was a real piece of work in the very best sense. ...and almost as prompt as Glenn :)
Political journalism.
I heard that term this morning concerning Tim Russart and thought it apt. Although I sometimes made light of Tim's work, I would say he was good at what he did - a politcal journalist. With excellent access to politicians.
The trouble I have with 'political journalism' is that it is only concerned with 'politics' and it is the only journalism there is - on tv anyway. And politics is not a pretty thing, in the best of times. Even war, and its consequences, can be, and are, described most often by politcal journalists as simply a matter of competing... 'academic questions' between the political parties.
I watch msnbc, sometimes, a little, when i can't avoid it, in the mornings - morning joe and mika - (*I think DCLaw does tooo - off the record.), but not to inform myself about much of anything important. It's more like a [political] soap opera . Payton place or something.
for the record,
bah.
Some day 'a mechanism of world inter-communication will be devised, embracing the whole planet, freed from national hindrances a restrictions and functioning with marvellous swiftness and perfect regularity.'
When that day comes it will be possible, for the first time in human history, for everyone to view the entire earth from one perspective.
bah.
Well Glenn, with all the modesty and gentleness which were born in me ...the round-the-clock three day eulogy for Tim is beginning to bug me, too.
The sheer volume of time devoted to Russerts death by major media (tv) at this point (today/sun - tellingly, 'meet the press' was devoted entirely to Tims death) is not only inappropriate, but unseemly as well. In fact, I would describe it as disfunctional.
location, location, location,
bah.
Just lucky I guess. Newt.
Pick a card*. Any card.
We need another law: Just like you can't yell FIRE in a crowded theatre when there isn't one, henceforth it shall be unlawful to yell WMD any where in the country when there isn't one. And unless Newt has something more fucking specific to say about the destruction of cities...
'You are now free to move about the country.'(tm)
Re. ~Hoyer. Here's some quotes you can use Glenn: "Award-winning Snake oil salesman of the year", "full of shit as a x-mas turkey", "slick-weasel", "cunningly cunning", "a little $dab$ will do it", "vapidly vacant." I can provide more upon request.
copywrited,
bah.
*It's a trick.
I really don't know Nancy at all.
What Nancy Pelosi said; 'we have re-affirmed that the president can't break the law' ...referring to the old FISA law I presume.
And it sure needed re-affirming.
gone flirting,
bah.
Sen. Obama.
I guess even constitutional lawyers can make mistakes. (The Harvard ones, Glenn.)
I take it, Glenn, you are suggesting Obama's remarks on the 'compromise', re. FISA, is some kind of political calculation by Obama to win a few 'red states' in the general election? ... I hope so!
For me, the most egregious part of the FISA ...uh, revisions was/IS 'retroactive immunity'. It's just flat-out outrageous - for Congress to retroactively immunize anyone/thing for breaking the law, any law. (Furthermore, from a constitutional point of view, it would seem to completely undermine, if not eviscerate, the role of the Courts?)
Obama has made it clear he opposes retroactive immunity.
Assuming the 'compromise' bill passses the Senate and becomes law, *with retroactive immunity* (which Obama clearly opposes), no matter which way Obama votes, perhaps he 'calculates' that he will be more able to reverse these fisa 'compromises' as the POTUS ...rather than a jr. senator?
...anyway, that's the only spin I've got right now.
