  • Ugh more boomer angst

[Read the article: I'm younger than that now]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Yet another navel-gazing boomer screed to aging. I'm so impressed I could just yawn.

I can't WAIT for another ten years, when every boomer article will be about how to "personalize" and "amp up" your funeral.

  • I've watched every episode

[Read the article: Addicted to "Intervention" ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Why? I'm the daughter of an alcoholic. All these stories from the Intervention kids...I always assumed it was just my private hell. When we finally did an intervention last year (which didn't work, she refused), I watched an episode that made me cry, and NOTHING makes me cry (another skill learned in my childhood)...a boomer woman, drinking herself to death, was intervened by her kids. Hers took. Good for them.

It's not exploitative. I grew up thinking addiction was a shame and a secret. You know what? It's way more f**king prevalent than you think. The more we shout stories from the rooftops, addicts can't hide, and families can't hide them either.

  • Hey Obama! Got a talking point for you :)

[Read the article: Quiz: Palin or Bush?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I have a great talking point for Obama: "she's just George Bush in high heels and lipstick."

you may use that for free :)

  • This is how they can fight back against Sarah Palin

[Read the article: Mean Old Party]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

It ain't so hard, and they need to do it now.

    1) Use her words against her. "A pit bull in lipstick? Try GEORGE BUSH in lipstick!"

    2) Get a sound bite nickname that's easy. GEORGINA BUSH. it's the McSame-Georgina Bush ticket!

    3) Borrow a Republican move and use her strength as a weakness. Her strength is energizing the party with big crowds. "She sure does make McCain look lifeless in comparison, doesn't she?" Bring attention to how dull and OLD McCain is compared to her.

Man up and be vicious. It's a war out there, and the rules of engagement are not pleasant.

  • Facts ain't enough, peeps

[Read the article: Mean Old Party]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

If facts were enough, would America have re-elected George Bush?

Give me a break. Few people have the energy or interest to read the facts. People are only comfortable with what they believe, in spite of the facts. It's called cognitive dissonance.

    1) Fox news will twist anything as nasty and mean. Deal with it.

    2) Fox news will then say things nasty and mean about Obama, and we will sigh and refute with facts that nobody hears.

    3) Assailing with facts and playing the high road lost Kerry the election.

What's mean about "Georgina Bush"? It says in 2 witty words what 3 paragraphs of "dull facts" say.

And, Rove would use this strategy in a heartbeat. Again, have we learned nothing???

  • Question for Palin

[Read the article: Palin watch ends!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Q: You have said that you said "thanks but no thanks" to the Bridge to Nowhere. In fact, you not only supported it, but accepted the money, and never gave it back. How do you justify accepting the money for a project you openly boast rejecting, and do you think your boast is untrue? And to which project/fund/earmark has this money gone to, and did the Alaskan people have any say in the usage of this money?
