  • Let's Talk About the Greeks

[Read the article: Hot off "The Wire"]

I agree with the comment about how Method Man's casting takes you out of the story a little bit because he is one of the few familiar faces onscreen. But what about the Greeks? My wife is Greek and I am around quite a lot of Greeks in my Brooklyn neighborhood and the guys cast (Paul Ben Victor and Bill Raymond) are perhaps one of the least authentic aspects of the show. Just shows how amazing a show The Wire is when the only real criticism I have is that The Greeks don't look Greek enought. Opa!

  • Dogs and Cats. Our holy animals?

[Read the article: An Olympic disgrace]

I agree with so much of what is being said. Feeding over a billion people is something that as Americans -- and often wasteful Americans -- we have little right to pedantry.

However, what is not being said here, and something that I've never read before is a discussion/dissection of how our love, admiration and respect of dogs and cats in America seems to parallel a sort of religious deification. India has a number of holy animals -- cows, elephants, rats -- and the same can be said for other countries. Just throwing it out there, but can something similar be said for our hallowed treatment of dogs and cats?

  • No Mention?

Although Miller is doing a book review, I find it difficult that there is not a single reference to the vice-produced "Heavy Metal in Baghdad" documentary recently released.

  • I want my 2 minutes back

[Read the article: Who's at AT&T's Blue Dog party?]

Since when has harassing party goers about their motivations for free food/drink ever been newsworthy?
