Sarah Palin thinking?

Ugh, there's an oxymoron if I ever saw one!

Thinking usually involves brain activity, and for that a brain is needed. A faulty record player giving garbled messages does not constitute thinking activity.

There's one helluva lot wrong with the US, and Sarah Palin is just the visible top of the iceberg.

The Mambo Man

I presume Garrison's reference to mambo was that Obama is light and sure on his feet. Yes it sounds like 'Sambo', but it ain't that word!

And he described the top US village idiot to a tee!

Ah, but that's socialism!

That something makes sense is of course not enough for the Reagan-Bush-Bush indoctrinated Americans that social spendings are BAD. Ideology is more important.

Hell, you morons have had it coming for decades, and deserve every bit of it!

Got it wrong

Thought Bushco's campaign was 'War FOR Terror', but maybe that wasn't the intended outcome, just happens that way when the real terrorists are ruling the roost.

Poor Muslim amateurs didn't have a clue, did they?

Why liberal?

Fairly simple:

I think, therefore I am a liberal!

And that thinking has also led to other things:

I think social justice is desirable, hence I am a socialist.

Well aware that the American Joe Blow think that socialism is the same as communism, but readily embracing any fascist or neo-nazi, for these are much more like himself.

And you wonder why Americans really are so often ridiculed, despised and disliked, - not as individuals, but as a nation?

It will take more than electing Obama to regain respect and affection, because as a nation, Americans are nothing more than a nation of war criminals that are not brought to justice!

Masochism

Watching Faux 'news' for FIVE HOURS?

Your IQ would have dropped 20 points!

Or did you leave your brain in the freezer?

Victory

Well, this was the first victory which was a proper win the US has had for eight years!

And it is just to hope that the complete Bushco has an extended holiday at Gitmo.

With space for some sleazebags from the UK and Australia as well.

Laughable lack of dignity

People who take themselves seriously (a very US American trait) are always easy both to ridicule and to parody.

That's why the rest of the world have so much fun at American's expense. As a nation, you are simply a bunch of dickwads.

Obama has dignity, a lot of it. As much as FDR had. And to a large extent Ike had it. No other US president or politician is or was in that category, regardless of party.

And maybe that's why Canadians as a whole are so much more appreciated by the rest of the world, in real terms.

'Corner Gas' is a prime example of Canadian's almost British ability to laugh at themselves. The Americans leave that to others.

There are some good . . .

Western Australians, and I know all three.

Of course most people everywhere are fine if they are not challenged. Don't demand any mental activity for which they are not equipped. Don't disagree with their inane views.

These people are like those in Germany who turned into Nazis. Just that nothing yet has happened to these ones to create the monsters.

As parochial, under-educated, ill-informed people everywhere, they have very few analytical skills and ability to listen to what they don't want to hear. So when it comes to the crunch they follow the ones who scream the loudest and closest message to what they want to hear.

Give me an edgy, educated New Yorker any day.

Don't even think about it!

Hey, I am moving back home to Norway after 26 year in that Antipodean prison called Western Australia. The last thing I want to be greeted by when arriving is someone speaking English or American.

But of course, if you are game, move to Finland. The Finns will sort you out quick-smart. If you survive the vodka-drinking, that is.

Good stuff if you had

cut out the church crap to start with. Yes, no doubt a lot of Americans are going to church, and even listening to the garbage coming out of the clown with the dog collar, but the significance of that is what? Dimwitted tradition? Has anybody ever learnt anything worthwhile by listening to a priest? I mean, really?

Ok, Salon want their 500 words, but don't let it be just any words, even if you picked up the game towards the end.

Going Down The Gurgler

SALON!!

Running completely out of material?

This isn't even feeble. Eugenics and all the related crap were outdated with the Nazis, so why get into the nonsense now?

Republican fascist rhetoric

Although McCain is not the orator Hitler was, his rhetoric has much of the same quality as the early Hitler, using lies and innuendo to blacken his opponents, and to blame others for own mistakes.

Maybe a more contemporary comparison is to Robert Mugabe, like McCain, a decrepit geriatric with little consideration for what is going on around him.

The sad part is that McCain seems to have a good repose with the intellectually stumped red-necks and the uneducated evangelist cretins because he appeals to their emotions, and not to their rationale. The bile and hatred they can comprehend because there is no mental processes involved, just blind fanaticism expressed in simplistic slogans.

Hopefully enough Americans can see through the scam. If not you'll go down the gurgler as a nation.

Keep it up, Glenn, because you, like the most honorable Major Michael Mori, and his co-defenders of the Gitmo victims, are beacons in the dark landscape called USA 2008!

Michael Mori

Having followed Major Michael Mori's defence of hapless Aussie 'terrorist' (really just a dreamer) David Hicks, it made it quite clear that there are still Americans who put honesty, decency and integrity before own interests.

Mori was (and still is) a beacon, a towering lighthouse, in the very sad affair, where also the then conservative Australian government showed themselves for the hobby fascists they where, lead by a Bush suppository.

You made a good distinction of the totally committed and principled Mori and his fellow lawyers versus the cretinous Moose Queen and the rest of the GOP bastards.

Cheers from downunder!
