I read your Glenn Beck comment, went to the link, read it, shook my head and sent this in an email to CNN Headline News:
"It has come to my attention that earlier today the following exchange took place:
Graham asked Beck if he wanted to see the Clintons murdered in the [spoof Sopranos] video. “[S]eriously, Glenn, didn’t you at one point want to see, like, Paulie Walnuts or someone come in and just whack them both right there. Wouldn’t that have been great?” Beck responded with a smile, “No, I did not want to see that.” Graham said, “C’mon. … I wanted that.”
And that in an earlier broadcast Glenn Beck said the following:
“I’m thinking about killing Michael Moore, and I’m wondering if I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it. No, I think I could.”
In one instance, it appears one of your broadcasters is actively advocating the murder of a filmmaker. In another instance, a guest on the same broadcaster's program is advocating the symbolic murder of Bill and Hillary Clinton.
Are you as a company either promoting or condoning the murder of Bill and Hillary Clinton and Michael Moore through your acquiescence? If someone does murder one of these people, are you willing to accept partial responsibility for your part in having publicly encouraged such an act?"
CNN is shit for brains by allowing this kind of thing to go on. The administration and their MSM lapdogs are so far gone, there is almost nothing they could do that would surprise me. Make me run and hide in a cave until I could figure out what to do next, yes. But surprise me, no.
Am I mistaken or is this actually your FOURTH blog post that shameless spams your own book? Your usual rants are often tedious and shrill but at least generally readable; this constant self-aggrandizement is pathetic and somewhere far beyond tedium ...
I cannot help but notice that this is the only letter you have written. If you are a regular reader, the only reasonable conclusions I can draw are 1) either everything has been perfect until now, or 2) you have finally overcome your shyness enough to post for the first time, or 3) you are having a bad day and decided to take it out on Glenn's blog. I am sure there are many other just as reasonable explanations.
This is Salon. Glenn blogs here. It's not a starving writer situation but it's not Harper's or the NYT or the WSJ either. It's what people do. It's called marketing. And it appears to be working.
The general idea (I think) is to get as many people as possible to read Glenn's books in the hope of effecting some sort of change in their thinking in the hope of turning America away from its headlong rush into chaos, moral darkness and endless war and death.
At least that's my take on it.
hate us for our freedom:
to bomb them, invade them, put them in prison, torture them, take away their stuff and give it to our rich friends.
They must occasionally ask themselves, "Why do Americans get to do this and other countries do not tell them, No!?" Well, we do it just as much here at home (although in different ways and for different purposes) than we do it anywhere else. But regardless of how we do it, where we do it and who we do it to, we generally do it for the same reason. The same reason we impeached Clinton, for example. As Gingrich so eloquently puts it, "Because we can."
Al-Qaida were and, so far, still are Arab terrorists. By that I mean that, so far, no EU, Asian or Latin American countries have been actively designated supporters of Al-Qaida (i.e., Qaida) and enemies of America.
Since a terrorist is someone who hates our freedom (to be in their country) and fights us (or is in in the vicinity, say a few miles in any direction, of someone who is fighting us), and since an Arab terrorist is a terrorist who lives in the Middle East and since Qaida are Arab terrorists, it makes perfect sense that the Middle East is now synonymous with Qaida.
As you point out, there appear to be more Qaida now than ever before. They are multiplying like (well, certainly not rabbits since there's no sex or similar fun involved), well, to be blunt, they are multiplying like the populations of Middle East countries.
We have been told Qaida is coming into Iraq from Iran and with Qaida everywhere you look, it is imperative that we to go Iran and kill Qaida there as well if we have any hope of killing all the Qaida who are trying to kill us because they hate our freedom (to be in their country). Now with 25 million Qaida in Iraq and 65 million Qaida in Iran, we better hurry up and attack Iran before things get any worse and we end up with a couple of hundred million Qaida and it's too late and too many to kill them all.
