"Glenn" blog common tater's rants r rApidly approaching the levvel of HIGH ART

Thank you, MAJOR, for that excellent post.

I am flabbergasted at the level of sophistication that the rants, both pro and con (of anything and everything), have achieved just in the time I've been coming here. Some of the practitioners are connoisseurs of the first order, and some of the best ranters I've ever seen. What follows is an excerpt of the Master Ranter, Francis E. Dec, taken from the web site UbuWeb, "a large public domain web-based educational resource for avant-garde material available on the internet, founded in 1996 by poet Kenneth Goldsmith."

http://www.ubu.com/sound/dec.html

Worldwide open secret. Solely Mr. Dec heralds the true god in the entire history of the universe. Not even in the Truth, oy vey, Pravda, is Mr. Francis E. Dec Esquire's eight-page detailed letter exposing the worldwide deadly Communist Gangster Computer God and the worst deadliest enemy of the entire human race and the entire universe and the entire history of the entire universe namely the Communist Atheist Conspiracy with all of the Deadly Gangster unbelievable sophisticated Frankenstein Controls, the Catholic Church. These facts, like the below facts, cannot be found in the Communist Gangster Computer God concocted and manipulated so-called history and news media.
Communist Gangster Computer God, unbelievably staged like Hollywood scum-on-top Tsarina alias Great Dictator Franklin D. Roosevelt, the polio paralyzed legless drug addict idiotic suicidal Tsarina fag who had his unbeatable rival Will Rogers exterminated in an exploding ball of flame by a planted bomb here in safe USA airfield shortly after take-off at the end of Will Rogers' unprecedented renowned arduous 'round-the-world good-will flying trip with Wiley Post in his beautiful electronically sophisticated luxurious ultra-modern Winnie Mae airplane. Not only all stairways had inclines added for Tsarina Roosevelt's computerized wheelchair, but a football field sized glass house type building was built in sight of the White House for his medicinal piped-in pure warmed seawater into his gigantic suicide-proof two feet deep swimming pool where he waded naked with his nurses and had sodomy affairs. Ones very near to him have written popular books about his sodomy oy vey love affairs. Already in his third term he was a helpless and useless stretcher case incapable of even appearing at his fourth term convention.

It goes on from there.

Although I do not know what Mr. Dec's political affiliation is (or was), it is apparent that views on politics have not changed that much in the twenty years since this was written.

Again, I am very pleased to be a participant in the comment section of Glenn's blog.

"I"

thought the "T" stood for Totalitarianism. It still worked for me.

BTW, rational dissent is good citizenship and, when applied to journalism, is journalism.

EVERYTHING is Bush's fault.

Just remember. You said it.

George Bush is the Republican Party's Lord Worphin

The more this MSM/Beltway/Republican Party revisionist history charade continues, the more George Bush's speeches and the neocon and Republican talking points remind me of Lord Worphin's call to duty in Buckaroo Bonzai:

Lord John Whorfin: History is-a made at night. Character is what you are in the dark.

Dear conservatives - Yes, that's YOUR friend trashing the place, not ours!

Conservatives have George Bush hung around their neck like an albatross now and forever. There is no getting away from it. It is done and all the revisionist history and propaganda in the world cannot change it. Conservatives put him in office. Conservatives kept him in office. Conservatives backed him every inch of the way. The Conservative Congress did everything but crown him King.

Yes, conservative fellow citizens, that is your friend trashing the place, destroying everything he can get his hands on. If he had had his way there would be no minimum wage, no Social Security, no Medicare, no public school system, no laws to protect women, minorities and the elderly, no habeas corpus, no trial by jury, no law but the law that issued from his mouth from one day to the next. There would be nothing left but a single monolithic government with one man at the top, existing solely for the benefit of its corporate masters.

If George Bush had his way, we would already be a fully-formed fascist nation. You made him. He broke it. Now you pay for it.

ARE YOU CRAZY?! ARE YOU INSANE!?

I haven't been to the comments section since last night and I was dutifully working my way through the various and sundry thoughts, words, anthimeria and other assorted symbol strings, but before I could reach page 42 I came upon this statement:

Bush's true conservative principles have undeniably improved our country in many far reaching ways, but his loss of focus have cost him plenty, in many different forms. pcon-T

Please don't take it personally pcon-T. It isn't directed at you. The subject line is just a knee-jerk reaction. The last time someone wrote something that over-the-top about someone like George Bush, it was:

No guard is found, and in the ancient streets so

Scarce seen the passer by. The fields in vain,

Rugged with brambles and unploughed for years,

Ask for the hand of man; for man is not.

Nor savage Pyrrhus nor the Punic horde

E'er caused such havoc: to no foe was given

To strike thus deep; but civil strife alone

Dealt the fell wound and left the death behind.

Yet if the fates could find no other way

For Nero coming, nor the gods with ease

Gain thrones in heaven; and if the Thunderer

Prevailed not till the giant's war was done,

Complaint is silent.

From "Pharsalia" (aka "The Civil War"), BOOK I: The Crossing of the Rubicon by Lucan (Marcus Annaeus Lucanus) A.D. 39 - A.D. 65

The big difference is that Lucan was being satirical.

P.S. You have to admit, it does sound a little bit like Iraq and GWB, no?
