Majorajam and Voting for McCain
[Read the article: Obama spokesman goes after Clinton on tax returns]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Perhaps you didn't read my post correctly. I said I would be voting for whoever the Democratic nominee is in November. That means Obama or Clinton, or, the man from Mars if the two of them can't get their damned act together and straighten this thing out if it goes to the convention (if it has to go that far). I will not vote for McCain. Therefore, how, exactly, in my case, would a vote in the general election for the Democratic nominee be a vote for McCain, since as a registered independent, I was NOT allowed to vote in EITHER primary (Republican or Democratic in my state). I'm sorry, but voting for Clinton, should she survive to November, is not voting for McCain. You are simply off your head about this. The policy differences between Clinton and McCain, simply on health care, are striking.
As for the polls you cite, polls also had Kerry up by what, 15 points at the convention? We all saw how it turned out. People didn't know Kerry well, either. Then the Republican attack machine took a war hero apart. Amazing. He wasn't particularly inspirational, but he was a war hero and they took him to pieces. Maybe Senator Obama will be different. Or maybe he won't. I appreciate the fact that you support your chosen candidate with such passion but you have to understand that not all of us respond well to having our posts twisted and being told that voting for one of the Democratic nominees in November is actually voting for McCain.
This is, in part, why I am an Independent. A pox on both parties houses. None of you represent me.

I'll try one more time. Then I'm done with Majorajam
[Read the article: Obama spokesman goes after Clinton on tax returns]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I live and vote in NJ. You do understand that the NJ primaries are already done, and that, as a registered Independent, they were closed to me? So, my only vote is in November and that was the only vote I ever discussed, from the beginning.
You said voting for Clinton, which I will do if she is the nominee in November, was a vote for McCain. Either you just do this as a Pavlovian reflex or you truly believe there is no difference between Clinton and McCain. You put all those links to try to tell me to vote for Obama, which wouldn't be possible until November and if he's the Democratic nominee, will happen anyway. You added another one in your last post to me. Now, you can stop posting links to tell me how great he is or how terrible she is. I don't need to be sold like you are selling cheap furniture. It's enough for me that neither one will be handing me any more Alitos or Roberts any time soon - and McCain would.
