  • Actually, I don't believe her

    The apology, that is.

But that's OK. I never believe any of them, on either side (any of the Democrats, or the Republicans). I think she got 'caught' saying what she really meant. Then again, as I've said before, I never believed that any of them, including Obama, were anything but politicians. So, once again, nothing shocks me, except, perhaps, that she thought you could try to get anything to be off the record in the middle of an interview.

However, I do have some questions. Are you guys saying it's Clinton's fault she called Clinton a monster? Or Clinton's fault that she said the people of Ohio were too stupid to see what was good for them? That Clinton is now so evil that she's exerting control over what this woman said? Or, is it her own fault she said it? Or is Clinton just so evil, in your opinion, that it doesn't matter, she's simply to blame, no matter what?

Also, allow me to ask this, if Obama is running on change and not experience, and experience means evil and change means he's above all this and not doing business as usual, what does not doing business as usual mean? Does it mean he tries to run the new style of campaign, in which case, he would accept the resignation for this, because he can't have her saying this, even if it's really how he feels, or does it mean people actually say what they feel, no matter what it is? So, if one of his campaign aides or volunteers actually feels that Clinton is a monster, well, then he/she should be free to say so. And why. After all, this is the new era. The new age. Take the gloves off and say what you think - not what they tell you to think. And don't resign. Don't be shy about this stuff. Call her what you think she is - and why. And have the candidate do it.

I wanted to know how far people were going with the well, it's actually Clinton's fault she said it, because Clinton deserved it for being so evil. And, I noticed you didn't argue my first two statements, that some people on here have basically been saying it's Clinton's fault Power said Clinton was a monster and it's Clinton's fault Power said the pwople of Ohio who voted for Clinton were stupid. What I really want to know is, when is someone going to say, Power had no control over what was coming out of her mouth because Clinton's evil has grown to such levels that she can make people say things they don't mean to say. Really.

Or can't you recognize a bit of sarcasm at the expense of the people (on both sides, including the idiots who call Obama nothing but an empty suit - which I have noted before - btw) who go overboard here. The same people who wouldn't vote for my original dog in this hunt, Edwards, because his hair and smile made them 'uncomfortable'.

  • I'm used to Kool-Aid references

Then again, I'm that rarest of humans, a NJ Devils' fan. We actually had a former player (now in jail for trying to hire someone to kill his agent, btw) get into an argument with our GM when he tried to demote the player to the minors. The player insisted that he wasn't going and referred to the fact that the GM rules with an iron fist in this day and age (not quite true) and that everyone follows Lou blindly but "he's not drinking any of Lou's Kool-Aid". It was an instant classic.

It reminded everyone about the Jonestown reference (although that was Flavor-Aid) and now we say that we have been proudly drinking the Kool-Aid since whenever we became a fan of the club.

So, it isn't exactly something that was invented for this election cycle. It's been kicking around for a while...in this, and other areas.

I haven't voted for either of them - I can't, yet. I am a registered independent in a state that forces you to register for either party to vote in a primary. I will vote for the Democratic nominee. I think you mistake the fact that I consider them both politicians for support for Clinton. I just don't believe him when he says he's different. That doesn't mean I think he's a bad guy, or that I don't support his candidacy. I just don't get worked up over actual campaign tactics, because I see them as just that. I don't get particularly worked up over why someone didn't leave their husband.

I believe Power meant what she said. I think he had to accept her resignation because it would have made him look very bad if he didn't, and he couldn't afford that. Personally, since I consider most of these people in political life aren't 'real' anyway, I think they should all simply say what they mean and stand by it. They should explain why they believe that, and not apologize. We should then decide whether we really want these people. But, we can't have that. We have to pretend everything is nice and sugar-coat it. God forbid that the American people should have to actually look at people for what they really are. I remember once my parents ran into Bob and Liddy Dole when they were on vacation in NH in 1994 or 1995, before he announced for the 1996 run. They said, "He must be running, he was so pleasant to everyone."
