Don't let up
[Read the article: Craig to cop: "I'm a respectable person"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'd say pursue this as far as you can. I'm tired of getting lectured on how to be virtuous by people who are anything but. Taking the high road will allow these hypocritical mofos to continue to steal moral superiority while dictating how we should live our private lives.
Somebody needs to be made an example of. He is as good as any.
And for the remark that, if we were to remove hypocrisy from Washington, it'd leave the place barren? I'd say, "Good. Let it be."

Emoticons
[Read the article: Coming soon: Godhateschina.com]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]1 (leftmost) - [:Automan:] the closest thing I can think of is "abracadabra" or "tada" or "voila." Just something silly and definitely lost in translation.
2, 3, 5 - [:^^1:], [:^^2:], [:^^3:] variants of dancing
4 - [:-_-b:] whew!
6 - [] crying
7 - [:Orz:] banging head against wall (I've seen this in U.S. forums)
8 - [] I had no freaking idea what that is, but I'll take their word for it.
9 - [:Yeah:] empowerment (heavily dramatic)
10 - [:Admire:] serenade of some sort (used to praise something, I guess)
11 - [] shaking/strangling someone (I love this one)
12 - [:Sao:] that looks like a bottle, but this guy is snuggling/pampering it as if it were his baby or something.

Self destructive
[Read the article: Conyers moves on contempt]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'm on a self-destructive bent and almost wish that nothing will happen with any of these.
Perhaps only after several years of this will the American voters be jolted back from their complacency and laziness to get their ass to the voting booths to do their job.
So let the Congress continue to be stagnant. And have the Republican minority, working with the White House and Supreme Court the block all attempts for justice. Let these voters pay for their mistake so dearly that they will never ever make the same mistake again (at least not until the next generation).

I can't believe
[Read the article: Democrats show Beltway "strength," avoid being depicted as weak]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]... I voted for these spineless incompetent Democrats.
I wish 2008 returns the Congress back to the Republicans. I may even vote for them. Because I would rather be slain in a battle face-to-face with my enemy, instead of being betrayed by the cowardly sapping away my spirit and soul.

Well...
[Read the article: Quote of the Day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If I felt like cutting him some slack, I'd say that, with the situation as it is, there is little he can do about things. Every leading candidate is running on a platform of "change," and that doesn't go well with any incumbent. So probably the best thing for him to do is to just stay out of it.
On the other hand, most respectable politicians would've said something more diplomatic like, "I wish all candidates the best and am glad we get to enjoy democracy once again, blah blah blah." This A-hole decides to show his contempt once again by making a point that he'd rather sleep than to show any concern. Really. There must be tens of excuses he can give for not following the race, but he chose to either 1) specifically told Dana to say what she did, or 2) told Dana to make up something.
It's difficult to defend this guy, even if I wanted to.

High praises?
[Read the article: Giuliani makes it official, endorses McCain in press conference]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Quote from: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080130/ap_on_el_pr/giuliani :
"John McCain is the most qualified candidate to be the next commander in chief of the United States," Giuliani said. "He's an American hero."
Someone should immediate ask him why he ran for the same position, then. If he meant "other than me," and he lost, what does that make McCain? But nevermind. 9/11 changed everything.

Could have waited until 2010
[Read the article: California Supreme Court legalizes gay marriage]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This could've happened in late 2010 and probably would have gotten more support from Washington DC.
The only reasons it is happening now are some misguided peeps with chips-on-their-shoulders (yeah the Ralph Nader types) who can't think strategically and probably manipulation by some Republicans (where's Karl Rove nowadays?) who need something to resuscitate their base with.
They lost the religion edge (1 of the three god, gays, and guns trinity) due to the Democrats doing a better job at citing god and blessing us at the end of their speeches. The things they have left are the saber rattling, (possibly) gun control, and this.

Vote McCain
[Read the article: Congress votes to immunize lawbreaking telecoms, legalize warrantless eavesdropping]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Yes. I am actually contemplating on voting for McCain or not vote at all.
At least with McCain I know I'm being screwed. The sense of betrayal and bitterness I am feeling now just hurts too much. Might as well invest in Chevron and Mobil and make some money while I'm at it. I give up.
