When are you leaving

When Joan Walsh and Gary Kamiya are so happy that their names and their product is associated with people like you that it stands as a beacon of their intolerance and my IP address is banned, that's when.

Is no one covering the story

which one - the one where the Lebanese army is figthing with Syrian backed Palestinians in Northern Lebanon? Or the one where The Hamas and Fatah's fighting has claimed about 600 lives in the past three months.

No one's covering that. In fact this post is imaginary. No one knows about it.

Maybe we could just erase you

First off I'm glad you're openly calling for racist genocide. It saves a lot of wondering.

Next under UN181 Israel was established with borders. In fact the Arabs were offered 75% of the British mandate, they efused, were offered half of the remainder (88% of the Mandate), stalled for time and went to war for the rest. In its war of independence Israel lost 10% of its population making it, on par, one of the bloodiest wars of the 20th century. The borders remained stable until 1956 where Israel gave back what it gained and then 1967 where it did not. The War of Attrition 69-70 was not about land. Yom Kippur war was fought to a standstill in terms of land and there the conditions lie.

and for what it's worth

If Mexico or Cuba or Canada were lobbing rockets a few miles into the US then we would do nothing or almost nothing. The era of Blackjack Peshing and his ride against Pancho Vila is long gone. We'd treat it like gang violence and move on. Apart from Seattle, San Diego, Detroit, Miami and Buffalo, Americans would be as untouched by it as they are by other people's natural disasters. The US is great big country and other people's problems are far away. So that's the flaw in your reasoning.

Jebbie

You're right. That's why I propose a free eternal stipend for all Palestinians. A guaranteed no effort no work no quid pro quo middle class lifestyle for the entirety of Gaza in perpetuity. And since according to their own laws and the rules of UNWRA every Palestinian everywhere is a refugee then any Palestinians should be allowed into Gaza like an ingathering similar to Israel's law. And they too can live a relatively middle class lifestyle for life, for free. I doubt it would cost more than 20 billion a year since they don't have to invest in capital productive infrastructure or an export economy. It's really rather similar to the economic and social contract in places like the UAE where barely any citizens have jobs at all and there is a massive social welfare net paid for by oil. This is like that except there's no oil. We're the oil. Hamas I'm sure can get a grip on civil order. They already have more police per capita than any other place on earth.

Thank Jehovah

Pray tell why - what do you propose, simply erase all national boundaries everywhere so that Palestinians can roam all over North Africa, the middle east and declare a state wherever they like? they clearly have not demonstrated, yes demonstrated that they have the tools or the inclination to operate a state. More than $10 billion in direct aid has simply vanished into PLO personal bank accounts since 1993 - if they wanted to build institutions someone would have by now. So clearly the safest path is give in. They want all their services provided by Israel, guaranteed, fine, let's do that. For free. It's not a lot of money in the long run and it's cheaper than scraping busloads of people off the street with a squeegee which is usually how 'protest' goes. The Hamas can run their mosques and everyone is happy.

It could be useful practical experiment

What would indeed a completely fundamentalist theocratic semi functional state look like in 20 years if it could be contained and bought off by externally providing for its critical needs? Just in the past week or two The Hamas have declared the Christians should give serious thought to leaving as Koran is the law of the land. The have rounded up small numbers of women who went about unconvered. Not a lot, just a token really. A mini Ummah as it were. I think it's worth a try.
