Original article: The greening of Fox

Rupert is a Yank now

I'm sure Rupert, being an American citizen now, couldn't give a dingo's fart what happens to Oz. When Global Warming comes to Rupert's triplex condo in Manhattan or wherever he lives with trophy wife #3 or 4 then it'l be a problem. Until then it's entirely meaningless babble. He's probably looking for tax breaks from whichever state is willing to give to 'green' companies.

Hey here's an idea: Turn your entire TV organization and everyone who works in it into compost. I can't imagine that a pile of rotting shit is any dumber or more offensive than Hannity.

Original article: Backpedaling on Wolfowitz

Dar Al Hayat weighs in

Should be taken with grain of salt since it's clearly coming from some agendized position or another. But it lays out nicely what's wrong with WB generally and sinve before Wolfowitz. Although he didn't help their cause it's not as if WB has an entirely spotless record otherwise.

Chris Hitchens laughs darkly

Falwell's has only helped his book sales.Oh what precious irony that the man who's screaming about the fraudulence of religion is profiting from it.

that picture with the shoes

Is hotter than the show. We need a show called America's next top Foot model. I'd watch that.

Original article: Gore in 2008?

No he had a shot and blew it

He oozes anti-charisma. He already lost. Aren't we tired of recycling the same dudes over and over?

I mean do you folks really want to split the ticket with a stealth third party that way?

Well whatever.

If someone wants to pay it, why not? I'd read the phonebook aloud if someone paid me to do it.

You can always count on the NYT

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/world/AP-UN-Indigenous-Rights.html?_r=2&oref=slogin&oref=slogin

To make it a weepy liberal indigenous people's issue. Ethanol is bad for half naked cannibals. Boo hoo.

Original article: Who's too posh to push?

Nation of origin of the OBGYN

I can remember clearly having this discussion with a Philippino all Female OBGYN team in 1991 who told me in no uncertain terms that the reason they became OBGYNS is that it is the only opportunity for Female doctors in the Philippines to perform surgery. Ergo they do C-sections, A LOT.

Great. Please don't complain about what floor it's on

Or some perceived microscopic difference in the services or cleanlines and then turn that around into some bizarrely imagined patriarchal segregation. And please don't make a fuss or lawsuit if men do this too. Thanks. Separate but equal works for me too.

He gave $350,000 to Charity too

That's why the income side of the balance sheet is so misleading.

Hmm moderate depression?

That's what sent the whole process into start. A nominal functional adult who for whatever reason went into a moderate depression. After 6 months of this the caregiver decided to medicate, and medicate and medicate. Anyone would have known inside of 2 months whether or not antidepressants were working or not and if not needed to take steps to wean the patient off them, which can take quite some time. The usual standard for stopping SSRI's is something like half dose for 2 weeks then that same half dose every other day for 2-4 weeks then tapering off as required.

BTW this is the sort of thing you see with geriatric patients. Dr's give them all kinds of powerful drugs to shut them up. I see Dr's write Risperdal for moderate geriatric depression. That is beyond unethical it's dangerous.

So the rule of thumb is start out on the mildest settings. If it doesn't work in reasonable amount of time DO NOT GO FORWARD.

Original article: Wolfowitz agrees to quit

To an anonymous

Do you actually know or follow what the WB does? I mean other than offering fodder for your college sophomore Marxist Studies bullshit banners and signup sheets in the student commons? Go to wwww.worldbank.org. And trust me, this is neither a defense or an attack for the kneejerkers. It pays, at some time, to be armed with useful information on the subject. Something the blogging classes often neglect.

Original article: "Shrek the Third"

Here's what's odd

With Hollywoods near complete abandonment of live action in favor or blue/green screen and sfx, movies have largely become plays with each scene consisting of two characters talking shit to one another face to face. I was watching a Naked Gun movie yesterday and notices that crowd scenes used real people. And part of the charm was the funny wardrobes they put people in. Clothing you'd actually see in the world. You don't get that now. You get a deep shot from a quarter mile away of 3000 CGI replicants. But straight animation like Shrek actually has a little more freedom and tries to simulate three dimensions and shots that encompass depth, distance and movement. Shrek walks through the forest. You don't even see people walk through a forest anymore because it's too hard to synthesize a forest foreground and background. Plus, according to Hollywood, the sun must have exploded or it's nuclear winter everywhere now because everything takes place in easier to CGI twilight or night. But again, Shrek doesn't suffer from the same limitations. It's in daylight.

I don't know what incentive there was in the first place

To be a donor. I guess this will change things. Maybe I don't care either. Let them fight it out with hammers if they like. The men can complain they're being taken advantage of and the women can complain....about something or other. Whatever. Blame is more important than results.

But I will cringe when they do this for men too

I can just picture the commercial. Ten fat guys throwning popcorn around while they drink beer and watch ESPN on a flatscreen. They'll be doing dopey retarded shit like not knowing how to turn on the oven to warm up a pizza. In one room on the side you'll see two assholes throwing darts at each other.

I dunno does Medicare Part B have a better record?

That's as close to socialized med we have today. Does it have a better record in this area? Medicare fraud and inept care is a pretty big deal. Now the providers will tell you it's because the reimbursement rates suck but I tend to think that people are generally bad at their jobs. Socialized medicine may wind up being either cheaper or better but not both.
