It's doubly infuriating. But - and this is one of the few times I will credit them with ethical behavior - their published page for the SPH-A640 (soon to be changed no doubt) lists 7 BT profiles supported whereas tech support says they really only support 4. I wanted to cobble together a BT interface for one on my phones. So I picked up a middle priced BT dongle ($25) and discovered that not only is the 7 figure wrong, but so is 4. It's really 2. Modem , and OPP/OBEX are only partially supported for vCard only. Nothing else. So after an HOUR on the phone with them they agreed to credit me $25 for my trouble of relying on their published information. So - long story short they made good on their mistake, sans $1.68 tax and 2 hrs of my life dicking with it. But now I have a BT dongle that I suppose could be used at some point in the future if and when this phone is replaced with something they actually DO support.
I've found that Apple for all its other warts people want to complain about is pretty good with full disclosure, complete information and honestly telling you what's what with the expensive gear you just bought from them. They're pretty inflexible on service and repair which is offputting but at least you know going in that they will deal you honestly. If they say something it's usually true. Now - the iPhone does not have a replaceable battery. So don't ask them to swap one out for free. You know it's going to cost you and you know they're going to crack open your unit to do it. Don't ask them to replace a cracked screen because you dropped it. Don't ask them to replace it if you drop it in the water. They won't they say they won't.
Whereas with Sprint - that phone insurance and service/replacement plan I pay for is useless. Either they pull some reason out of their ass not to cover the damage or they claim that because a particular model isn't made anymore they don't have to replace it for free or repair it either or 10 other reasons why they suck and it's your fault. And it has a deductible anyway. So you're probably better off just buying a Motokrazr K1m net $80 after rebates and such than it is to screw around with Sprint Repair Hell on your old phone which you know is just gonna make you go get a gun, shove it up someone's ass, and kill them.
But hey at least it's not XBox service. Those guys could give prison rapes in Gitmo a run for their money in the customer satisfaction department.
He can screw up in 560-something days. That's like 10 years in non crack monkey time.
Getting the bridesmaids out of their gowns during the party was how we trashed them. And they of course were trying to find out who indeed was the best man.
Hells no, Glenn. Tragedy is the blind folly and subsequent destruction of great men otherwise bound for greatness. THIS is comedy. Read your Shakespeare.
Sorry for the confusion, my tinfoil interferometer is squelching the brain signals from the Illuminati.
Why are people who claim to not own a cell phone, mp3 player, tv, computer or horseless carriage even on this thread? Why is the aluminum hat squad here?
Who claim not have a TV or a cell phone or a PC or an MP3 player or any of the gadgets in the world which everyone else has.
And its unerring need to cripple virtually all the features of every phone it's ever marketed I say the simple fact that the iPhone will do what it says it will do is refreshing enough.
Have Samsung with Bluetooth? Yeah it won't support any profiles that Samsung says they build in, with the exception of BT serial modem. So those pictures you just took? Yeah, that's going to take their old, slow, expensive and error prone picture mail service. You want OPP and OBEX? that's been crippled for vCard only. You want file transfer? No dice. You want HSP headset? Your choice of headsets that actually work per Sprint's modified profile set is going to be pretty poor.
And if you set bluetooth aside and just pray for a cable link? Yeah that feature's been obliterated too. Sorry - Oh they'll sell you a $29 cable and $59 software suite, but you can't do anything with it except use the phone as a modem. Never mind the published information from Sprint
So maybe the basic truth in advertising aka 'you can do this or that, with the iPhone' would be refreshing. Or, at the least they would look awfully stupid if features they advertise, nationally with so much hype turned out to be lies. Not that lies are anything phone companies ever worry about. But in the least, the whole point of knowing what you get what you pay for would be a nice change.
let me tell you how to run your life.
Daniel Pearl wasn't killed, as it said on the videotape because "I am a Jew" but because he was an American. Niiiiiiice
Are you ALL logged in from the library? Puh-leeeze spare me. It's called a product. Stop gnashing your teeth already. We get it, you hate it. When my Moto-Q dies in about 2 years I will be looking for a replacement and you will not be able to find a Salon-approved Berkeley Marxist Steam Powered Zero Function phone. You will be able to find free phones for what $300 buys you today. I trust you will all refrain from that conspicuous consumption and buy only 10 year old cast offs for $2. Better yet don't get a cell at all. Please just take your tedious selves out of the loop.
You can go to jail for more time for beating your dog than you can for beating your wife.
