Scientician

Oh I see you're an antineopostmodernist. Where every comment is selfreferential inside joke about someone's comments about your inside jokes.

Years ago, I said about the now dead and buried Don Imus that his show was no more than Tim Russert talking to Don about what Robert Novak said about Brian Williams on David Brinkely's Sunday show. It's just circuitous gossip. And Glen's column is sort of like that; cataloging what other bloggers say about other bloggers on their blogs that summarize commentary of bloggers blogging about other media pundits who necessarily have their own blogs too.

I hope that didn't zoom over your head, because I don't want to be the one who PROVES you're a retard. I'd rather leave that one up in the air for now.

And let me just say

Having been to more than one funeral in my extended family having to do with 911, I think the whole thing was overblown a billion percent. In the big scheme of things it's just not that big a deal. Erect your monuments and move on. I get it, it was your generation's Lusitania. Which means you were probably going to war anyway. At this point exploiting 911 for it's glorious politcs is laughable.

Keep an eye on debt

It will come back to bite the rosey colored glasses wearers. Hard. Their short term salad days are fueled by capital debt and that debt is being held by countries that now have a huge worry over a declining dollar which will make their exports and dollar holdings worth far less. One way to placate them is to inject inflationary interest rates into their debt holdings. Combine a Federal funds rate of several % points more with a mortgage nonperforming debt overhang (sub prime loans) and you have a very toxic brew that can lead to inflation. Imagine what would happen now at a net savings rate of -1% if the prime rate went to 20.5% like in did in 1981. With household debt at >110% of income, it doesn't look pretty. Moreover our Wal*Mart suppliers in China holding trillions of dollars of T-notes are going to want a return that makes up for a falling dollar. Either those export prices will rise or the cost of our bonds will rise, or both.

How does that compare to 'real' baseball

Before performance enhancing Tommy John surgery and other unfair technical advantages?

The complaint is nothing. It's gossip

It doesn't even rise to the level of arguing about Wikipedia. It's a hermetic world made up of people who do nothing but critisize each other's opinions about opinions.

It made me pretend to be Alec Baldwin

And I screamed at my kids. A lot. Because I'm a bad person.

Original article: Wolfowitz on the rocks

Is it entirely relevant?

I mean everyone screamed about John Bolton's 'management style' but the real point was to blunt his attempts as prosecuting policy. Can anyone point to anything specifically bad or good the WB has done or intends to do under Wolf's tenure? Allright so the guy's creepy but no creepier than any other executive be him the head of a corporation, NGO or charity. Have you ever looked at the byzantine inner workings of the UN? The "N" is for nepotism. But here too, it's neither here nor there. Either it functions or it doesn't.

Congratulations you're an American now

Many millions of people came here 1881-1910 for the usual reasons. Poverty, war, pogroms, etc.

Here it comes

In the next 19 months, Salon will devolve into a screeching ideological blog.

I have remind you

In 2001 the DoD and intelligence services turned away and outright fired hundreds of skilled multilingual specialists in Arabic, Farsi, Urdu and Pushtun because they were either Israelis or they were gay or their employers didn't want to risk security problems. It's clear that the DoD will politicize this as well and they'll only teach whitebread ROTC campus Republicans who will translate what they want the way they want it.

No not quiet

But instead actually getting up and doing something. Sitting and typing and backslapping one another is not in reality the same thing as getting out there. How do you think the RNC apparatus is so successful? By blogging? No by door to door grass roots work. By getting on the phone. But hey, if you think metacommenting on the metacomments of others, then that's great.

Oh I see you're one of those

Let's do away with nations and borders types. Oh ok nevermind, utopian horseshit.

Why do you folks take up a collection

The nation with the largest number of Iraqi refugees now is Sweden. Why don't you folks set up a website to fundraise to send them there.

I wonder if they like the Palestinians will be called refugees unto the 4th, 5th, nth generation for perpetuity though. That's actually a nugget of fact, so don't yell at me, take it up with UNRWA.

We need

More columns that screech about what bloggers say about other bloggers commenting on our blog which rolls up all the metablog lists. Well that and 90% of the site devoted to Iraq.

In fact

Get rid of Cary Tennis, the comics, all TV and book reviews unless those reviews are about Iraq.

Saturday, April 28, 2007 10:36 AM

Is this article about Iraq?

No? Then what on earth is it doing here? Lose it.

William Timberman

Yes, successful. Electorally successful. You don't think so? You don't think they've been rather good at that despite everything else? The fact that that went right over your head and you insist on dully preaching and regurgitating the same old rhetoric sort of proves that. Yeah yeah they suck. And they get elected more often than not. Why is that? It's because they get people away from their blogs and out in the world doing the scut work.

I will write something snarky in my blog about this

5 people will read it. It will change the world.

I missed it, did anyone talk about Immigration

Or are we going define our entire country and the next 100 years of history in terms of Iraq. I must want to know that way I can ignore all that other shit.
