Ok Palestinians make up about 19% of all Israelis. So even if they continue to have 'massive families' say 5-9 kids each it would still take a while. Of course this ignores the fact that there are more Palestinians in Israel than there are in the entire Arab/Persian world combined and it ignores the fact that the state goal of the Palestinians is not to have 8 or 9% of the population of the West Bank be Jewish, as it is today, not 5%, not 1%, but zero. So let's turn that around, and you tell me about the gushing stream of freedom and consumer goods that will rain down on the Palestinians once they purge themselves of every last Jew and they now erect an absolutely pure racist society? Compare to say, the rest of the Arab world which clearly has done so well economically, politically and socially being all Jew-free all of the time. How do you envision that working out for them?
Secondly, which is really your question, what do think will happen when some happy day the Palestinians simply overwhelm Israel and go on a happy rioting/pogrom spree like they have in 1908, 1921, 1929, 1939, 1941, 1947-9, 1951? Well I suppose we can....what? Leave I guess. Maybe come to your hometown.
And instead of poor poor Palestinians you'd be screaming about displaced Mexicans, Indians, Farmers, Ranchers and whatnot.
In either case what will ultimately happen is that Israel will get about 10% of the West Bank, all of Golan, and part of E Jerusalem. The West Bank per se, as a Palestinian entity will remain 100% Jew Free. The Arabs inside of Israel which number about 19% today will remain there. Why? Because grumbling is one thing, prosperity is another. One would think that in a pure Parliamentary system like Israel has, that if Israel Arabs were truly interested in 'taking over' as you imply that they'd have larger representation in the Knesset than they do. Today their representation is less than half of their proportionality. So it's not likely that they will rise up politically and rewrite the laws to proclaim the Islamic Free Democratic People's Republic of Palestine and declare Islam the state religion as the PA and Hamas charters both assert today. And then you'll move on to the next set of complaints about the dreaded Jew menace. Your kind always does.
Why didn't anyone care before? It seems we have our own agendas complaining about this sort of thing. Oh well color me cynical.
How C&L and Atrios have become the personal playpens of about 7 people? That's why I gave up. After the morning rounds of 'good morning good morning' it was all pretty much "Bush sucks I hate him so much" "Yeah" "Yeah me too he sucks" "Ditto and double ditto for Rush!!!"
On NPR there was a segment about a Lebanese man who makes his living as a 'fixer'; driver, translator, etc. for the newsies in Beirut. They let slip that the wire services; AP, Reuters, long proud of their Arab water carrying editorial policies, actually PAY for news. I almost drove off the road when I heard this. a) that they do it openly and b) that they say they do it.
It's all starting to become much clearer now. AP and Reuters, typically with an anti Israeli slant to the news, are paying Arabs to give them news stories. Well dog my cats! Viva La Revolucion!~
Which while quaint, is pretty damn funny. Now they know my 'name' they start repeating themselves and demanding an answer as if I work for them or something.
