I would just let rabid Komodo dragons loose everywhere

And train them to attack anyone acting violent. You shoot a gun you get eaten by a giant Monitor Lizard with toxic saliva. How can anyone be against that?

Original article: From Blacksburg to Baghdad

You've got your signals crossed

Official bullshit bleeding for Iraqis is next week. This week is bullshit bleeding for Darfur. Don't get caught toting the wrong sign.

Cervantes says

And I shall remain satisfied, and proud to have been the first who has ever enjoyed the fruit of his writings as fully as he could desire; for my desire has been no other than to deliver over to the detestation of mankind the false and foolish tales of the books of chivalry, which, thanks to that of my true Don Quixote, are even now tottering, and doubtless doomed to fall for ever. Farewell."

Original article: Is rap racist?

Yes.

Wrong question. Right question? Does it matter?

Of course some rap is racist violent and hates women. That's not even a question. The point though is, so? Do you really have that much of a problem with double or triple standards? If there are things only black people can say and do and I can't, fine. I can live with that. Guess what? The world contains hypocrisy.

Not Orwell, Kafka

That we are watched is really not the point. That the name of our crime is carved on our backs until we die, is a bigger deal. We could live as if everything is, for better or worse an open book. We assume that already. Or should. The critical point though is that we will be punished for it. Not accidentally, but intentionally. My bank screwed up a coupon 'accidentally'. Of course it did. Now because of that one strike, which is their fault, my next loan will have a higher interest rate. I was on a no fly list at one point. Of course it was a technical glitch. Now I am on a whole bunch of other lists that flow from that one 'mistake' automatically. I have health problems and of course the PPO 'accidentally' released that information. Now I am essentially ineligible for insurance from anyone else and anything resembling an affordable price. My name is similar to a well know criminal. Of course that's just a clerical mix up. Now I will flunk every Federal security vetting I ever go for. There's nothing you can do, no one to blame, it's just the way our service economy works. Ooopsie daisy!!!

Well true to form

Saloniks are pigs and I mean that in a completely historically accurate way. Go look it up Pikipedia.

BTW guntards

If everyone was armed then Maximum Primate Bush could have never made his air assault from Heaven yesterday. Can't have it both ways you know. Can't grovel at the fascists boot and be armed at the same time. Fascists don't permit that.

Let's review

1. Let's make it illegal for people under 21 to drink so there won't be any alcohol related deaths on American campuses.

We actually do and such bans in fact work. Also we put quality standards on alcohol so that people don't drink battery acid.

2. Let's ban drugs so there will be no more drug related crime.

We do ban drugs, one can argue it's a failure but you in fact have no way of knowing what would happen if heroin crack and meth were legal.

3. While we're at it, let's make drunk driving illegal. That will "save" lots of lives.

About half of the people who were killed wrecks compared to 1975. Plus we require people to wear seatbelts which also save lives.

I would like to see the elmination of all police

and instead hand out infinite firepower to everyone. I saw a 3 car fender bender today and found myself hoping it would end in a gun battle. I'm am 100% down with the sociopathic anarchic Libertarian barbarism position. If it's a jungle, be a jungle animal. Kill and eat all comers. Survivors will be raped and enslaved.

Pussies shoulda fought harder

They deserved it, like the American Indians.

Original article: Repeal the Second Amendment

No just the opposite is needed

Let anyone buy any amount of any kind of weapon completely unchecked. If you can afford it, lift it and fire it, it's yours. The problem would self-correct in a month, 6 weeks tops. Or it would just turn into Baghdad, either way, I'll be cheering.

Control is pointless

Are we are arguing about is the relative water level of acceptable atrocities. There are some here who would do nothing until gun deaths are the leading cause of death in the US, by their own admission when they drag out heart attack deaths and car accident deaths and so on.

Ok, I call that bet. Let's watch gun deaths climb to 450,000 a year until we act. I'm fine with that. Everyone understands that any root cause isn't completely evenly distributed. It's a big country and it probably won't hurt me pesonally. So, I'm with you. That's 50 people an hour every day, the whole year. I promise to be untroubled until it reaches that level. But then I expect you to make good.

My MD claims to prescribe SSRI's for a diversity of ailments

Including GI ailments connected to seritonin. Seems like a broad net to cast if you're looking for gunmen.

Somebody should break into Rush's studio

And put that theory to the test.

To make eternity take less time.

Mineral byproducts depend on the water source

Inland water sources of brackish underground water could in fact have the byproducts redelivered back to them since it's where they came from in the first place. And since brackish water has as little as 1/10 the mineral concentration of seawater the cycle produces and reintroduces that much less minerals.

And helium pebble bed reator designs produce neither high level nuclear waste nor are they capable of either going super critical or producing weapons grade materials. So a combination of pebble bed powerplants operating brackish water reclamation would seem to be the way to go forward.
