But we can still blame the Jews for everything

Can't we? Oh look, Prothero is channeling Kamiya.

Let's see how long registered users survive here

Complaining about Die Sturmer Salon?

Wednesday, April 4, 2007 07:52 PM

In one breath there's blathering about the New Media

In the next breath not only is there registration but the college of crows here calls for everyone to use their 'real name'. How about addresses and phone numbers too? I guess everyone's in love with their own power and freedom and screw everyone else in the name of the nanny state.

Well Mother Salon has one of my email addresses now. Let's see how that works out.

I remember on CSPAN boards

I was banned for using a user name that consisted of all blanks. People just like to gnash and scream about whatever it is they think is something that appeals to other people's perceptions of their titanic ego.

No one cares about the font. Change it on your end if you like.

No one cares about any of the other stupid rules suggested either.

No one cares about your name. It's merely a way to ding you when they feel like it. But as someone who used their own real email address for years (until about 2 weeks ago) and nary a peep from anyone at Salon Galactic (even though, roughly speaking more than 10% of my letters were deleted, I wonder what they hope to acomplish? Will I get a nastygram from moderator #47-B? Will I get banned? Will they block my IP address? I'll remember to post from the public library if I think they'll do that.

I guess I'll keep track of the spam and phishing to see if my Better Liberal Angels sold me email address.

In the meantime pull up a chair and watch the trashheap burn as we try to apply a technical solution to the problem of narrowmindedness.

Actually it says nothing about Hamas, Mitchell

In the past few weeks SEVERAL HUNDRED Palestinians have died at the hands of other Palestinians, roughly 3x the number of fatalities than incurred in fighting (yes it's still called fighting and not baking or duck duck goose...) with the IDF. And nary a peep from the crumpet munching Progressive Press. If truth be told, and we still laughingly give lip service that you're even remotely interested in that, no one cares when Palestinians butcher and blow up one another. It's NJI (No Jews Involved) ergo nothing to get outraged about. You know how those WOGS are, just part of the scenery. My walrus moustache hrmmphs and tut-tuts at those dirty violent people.

So what does it say about Hamas? Either nothing, or it doesn't matter anyways since no one's listening. Why would they? The idea of wrapping a green rag round your head and sniping from the rooftops is a lot more romantic that having them actually run a country, collect the garbage, run the post office, pave the roads and all the other mundane things that countries do. In fact they're probably terrified over at Exploding Goat Central that someday someone will just throw the whole flaming shitpile back in their laps and make them do something, anything resembling governance and we will all see how bad they are at.

So I wish them well with that romantic fury. In a thousand years we will be operating hotdog stands on the moon. They will be squatting round the dung fire shaking their fists at Allah and wondering why. And sidewalk anarcho Marxists and Guardian reading liberals will be putting on their fresh black t-shirts and thinking of how this is all some Jew's fault.

Fine piece of agitprop

I applaud you. But nowhere do you actually get to what Iran has actually gained by this bumbling affair other than reaffirming what the 'street' already knows: white bwana man baaad!

If anything it points out a critical flaw in Iranian politics, that no one is fully in control and no one is fully in the know. Now we all know it's goat-rodeo over there.

But hey, Majd you keep trotting that old embassy-storming angry mob ethos. It's worked so far to keep Iran in the company of the rest of the modern world thusfar. Good luck with that. Wanker.

Isn't this what U-Stor is for?

Chuck it all in a storage locker for a few years. If you can't afford that then what does any of this matter?

Never seen a single minute of a single episode

So WTF do I know. But the only way to end this show is either in handcuffs or a hail of bullets, or both. I mean as long as we're making it all Shakespearean and shit.

While we're dancing the twist at the clambake?

Yeah, might want to look into that Flash 8 requirement on VideoDog. If you're running Flash 9 it's not in any recognized and the snippet won't play at all. In fact one would have to uninstall Flash 9, reapply Flash 8. Which kind of sucks. I wish Adobe didn't make 9 this different and incompatible from 8 but there it is. I'm not climbing down from a current version just to run weepy stories of Baghdad Angst.

Not 12, 16 it says quite clearly 16

Anyway, Africa is rife with 12 year olds with machine guns who would kill you for kicks anyway. I fail to see how one accidental death is particularly more horrifying than any other. I understand that Salon intentionally politicizes this and barely 2 or 3 days goes by any more without a pity the poor poor Palestinians article as if we had to all take our own pulses to measure our liberal street cred. So perhaps you should take that up with them and not the LW's. Thanks.

From the comfort of your solar powered tofu slave free computer keyboard

Someone advocates the collapse of the west, anarchy, poverty and economic chaos. Remind me how that works out for all the poor brown and black people here, again?

and while we're at it

Maybe a published policy about how and why and who is accountable for deleting said letters. Like yesterday's Bob Barr piece. My letter was struck 4x and yet it expressed opinions heard elsewhere. If columns are going to only permit 'Me Too' Letters then they should say that upfront.

Even Saloniks might find it boring eventually to only listen to people exactly like them. But it would good to know that, either way you go with that.

And yes my realcname is RealName. No really it is. Does that make you feel better, my fellow paranoids?
